I'm a very awkward person

You are not an awkward person. You're a regular person who hasn't yet learned to handle social situations with ease. Never use definitive language to define yourself. That's a fixed mindset. If you want to improve you will have to adopt a growth mindset. One where you see yourself as being capable of changing and improving through learning.

I don't really know how to start conversations with people I find attractive so they won't think I'm weird... Help?

Even if you're Sophia Vergara smooth he still might think you're weird. How he perceives you is never 100% within your control. So let go of how he might perceive you. Act in a way that you personally don't think is weird. Start there and learn by trying, failing, and iterating your approach. Act according to your standards. Not according to his standards. For one, you won't know what his standards of "normal" behavior and conversation is since you have never talked to him. So you have to trust yourself.

Well what i always do is to start by talkin about things i feel comfy talkin about......plus there are things u can talk about in general so u can start there

How do you start conversations with people you find unattractive?

It's the same thing, you just find them attractive so now you're worried about what they think of you, and it's making you self conscious and insecure.

You should research how to stop caring about what others might think of me. You're honestly probably a pretty neat person and shouldn't be so self conscious.
