So a few weeks ago I went to a sub shop. While there I saw a cute employee and decided to ask her out. It was within earshot of the other employees there, but I said ah fuck it... what do I care what they think?

Fast forward to tonight. I barely remember asking that girl out. Anyway, I'm in line. Same situation... cute girl, within earshot of the other employees. Again, I think what do I care what those other people think of me? I ask her for her number and she gives it to me. I text her a couple messages, then I suddenly get a message from another number I don't recognize. This person claims to be a girl I met a month ago, and tells me she wants to hook up like we did before. I tell her she has the wrong number.

Here's the rest of the conversation:

Him: No I have the right one. Actually this is 's boyfriend. Stop trying to hook up with every girl at . That's just harassment.

Me: How is asking for a girl's number I had no idea had a boyfriend harassment?

Him: It's not that you asked for just her number, but also other girl's numbers who work there. You have quite the track record.

Me: Hmm so I'm a jerk for not liking to miss an opportunity? A totally polite guy who kindly takes no for an answer and turns down sex with random girls? Yeah I'm such a bad person.

Him: No, you go for every girl in the restaurant, they are ALL opportunities for you. When the whole female population of the restaurant starts to talk about **** the creeper, it's a harassment issue.

Me: Whatever helps you sleep at night, Mr. White Knight.

Him: Way to go kid.

After that, for some reason she texts me with "Sorry my boyfriend works at **** too so he saw me give my number out." I just reply with "What a great catch."

Fucking fuck. I just hate this pettiness. I felt like I was arguing with a kid in high school (no offense to high school sedditors).

TL;DR: Thought I was getting a girl's number, turns out her boyfriend had other plans.
