Neat story, quick question though: What's the deal with "raw dogging"? Is this considered alpha all of a sudden? This is definitely not the thing I would be endorsing.

Hmmm...thinking about this, perhaps we should be more antagonistic. Because I don't want herds of luke-warm, izzisfereal, purple-pillers populating this place. I don't want to pull people in, going around justifying ourselves to people with Disney princesses dancing in their heads. I only want people who feel trapped here, who are thrown here by experiences in their life that compel them. This subreddit is growing by leaps and bounds, and this isn't by seeming less offensive, it's because people…

I think there's a controversy on this though. What you're talking about may actually be social proof rather than preselection. Some guys get the wrong idea that they are getting the benefits of preselection by maintaining beta orbiter status around women who have rejected them, who they are LJBF's with. This might actually be negative preselection. On the other hand, it probably does happen among mature social groups that the women in your group are happy and stable with their SO's, yet hang out…

I like the mods over on Seddit for the most part. I think the interesting part of this interaction is the point of view of the blue piller that he's talking to. His point of view is completely understandable, reasonable, natural, and wrong. Why would a woman be interested in me more simply because other women are interested in me? It seems like game-playing in the worst way, and it is uncertain who is playing games with who. The red pill moment is when you realize that women aren't actually play…

ive found action prompts inner development as well. Agreed. Too much "inner game" circlejerk turns into self-help tripe, seddit into a group therapy session. Are they talking about us on Roosh's forum? I know Rational Male talked about his Reddit followers, I don't know if that's specifically referring to us or not. Until us, there's really no redeeming virtue to Reddit or Seddit for that matter.

To be as clear and concrete as possible, this is the Reddit arm of the manosphere: A series of interlinked blogs, web forums that discuss not just game, but the sexual politics and sexual economics of relationships and marriages from a male point of view. This place isn't Mens Rights at all, which just tries to be inverse feminism: To do for men what feminism does for women. The difference between us and Mens Rights is that we're not progressives, we believe the difference between the sexes is s…

Thanks so much for linking to this. I'm in a relationship now, and even though I've read a lot of red pill material, I'm having a hard to time applying it. The thing to understand is that the woman you're in a relationship with wants you to be the man that she loves. She's been waiting all her life to love a man. But the hard part is being the man she loves, while thirsting for love yourself. On paper, it sounds easy. It's not easy.

To that end, having an understanding of what you consider to be moral, Where you draw the line, what your willing to do and not do, is useful. This is true. But learning about other people's morality...not so much.

This has nothing to do with seduction and is just going to create heated arguments. People don't have a moral code, that have a morality, and don't generally appreciate people who live and believe differently than they do, which is why this thread is unwise.

Personally, I loath any loosening of the concept of rape. You can't widen a term without weakening it, and the whole point of using a term like "rape" is to draw clear, bold lines around behavior that is completely unacceptable. I hate rape. I'm talking about real rape. It's the lowest form of male who feels he must force himself on a woman, it's a clear sign of omega-dom, like young guys who go on shooting sprees in elementary schools. The pragmatics of "date rape", in my opinion, is simply thi…

Well, look at the economics of it the other way around. Prostitutes are all about supply and demand. I think generally prostitutes are a sign that men, usually married men or men in committed relationships, aren't getting any at home. Prostitution is a sure general sign of how beta men in society are. There are always far more betas than alphas in any society, but there are times when this ratio becomes extreme. Prostitution is demand-driven, their rates go up as there are more horny men trollin…

It's one of those things where it sounds bad, but in practice it isn't. Try it sometime, and she will love you more for it. Equalize yourself with her, and she will grow resentful.

It's probably best not to get into subreddit drama for it's own sake. There are better subs for that.
/r/TheRedPill30/12/12 05:20 PM

Kind of disagree. Don't try to equalize yourself with a woman. There's a tendency to want to repay debts, you feel that because she says something sweet to you, that you should say or do something sweet back. You need to get over your need to do this.

The key is to ask questions in a way that doesn't provoke indignation. That's something you'll see in the women-oriented subs (or women-oriented media), is that women love indignation, and they are offended easily. It doesn't matter what the "truth" is, women are more interested in how offensive a proposition than if it is true. It's basically solipsism of intellect. The primary concern of a proposition is "How does it make me feel?" Women will avoid reading things that make them feel lousy, and…

Truth is, every guy's got a game. Most guy's game are just based on what they think should work, and by every token or logic, it really should. In a rational world, being nice to a woman would make that woman like you more. Having a sense of humor, making her laugh, this should be the only game you should need. Then it's simply a matter of being physically attractive enough. This makes sense. What doesn't make sense is that the guy just as physically attractive as you, or worse, will have better…

Exactly. This is effectively a "romantic comedy" staple at this point. How many rom coms or regular comedies are based on the theme "beta guy wins girl" or "beta guy wins girl over alpha guy" or "beta guy proves he is alpha to win girl"? There are so many. And this is simply because there are far more beta guys out there than alphas. Sad truth is, these movies aren't actually popular for women, they don't particularly like seeing these beta guys on the big screen (go figure). Honestly, if I had …

With this logic, all the woman's life is related to her kids and her husband. Thing is...this doesn't come from men, it comes from women. Women make kids, family, house a priority. Men wouldn't be out there struggling to earn nearly so much money if it wasn't for women who are obsessed with the way the house looks. (Of course, we're all speaking in generalities.) Why would a woman want to get married at 20, or earlier, and have nothing to say about her life other than: I got married and had kids…

I think the reason is because women are hypergamous: They always want better. Look, you're using euphemisms: "having fun, experience life"...um, you mean sex? Here, read this: http://rationalmale.wordpress.com/2012/01/04/five-minutes-of-alpha/ Five minutes of alpha — even worse, five minutes of alpha rejection — can fuck with the heads of even the most desirable women. Doesn't this tend to come up if someone touches them without permission, though? You don't need permission to touch somebody. Learn kino. In fact, feeling like you need permission is a beta-signal. touching without explicit verbal permissions is an accepted part of the flirtation process with alphas. I don't think this has anything to do with "being alpha". Honestly, the way you're talking, it sounds like you might be a victim of love-shyness, social isolation, sexual repression, or just anxiety…

I think you're right about the average. I think for a 24-25 yr old woman, the variation is high. There are probably as many 25 yr old virgins as women with 40 lays. It isn't all dependent on attractiveness, I suspect locale is more really most important. For instance, do you live in a conservative or licentious area? Or more importantly, how alpha are the guys around you? That's probably the most important factor.

Agreed. 75% of the red pill is understanding that Nature trumps Nurture. The belief in Nurture or the agnosticism of "it's too complicated!" is simply our ideology. For instance, feminism and it's belief that virtually everything is a social construct if something is brought up that sounds too reasonable. Red pill knowledge isn't that uncommon, it's just been simplified, vulgarized, and ridiculed. For instance, there's always been this idea that women are interested in money, a vulgarized and fa…

Not gonna work. You can't train confidence by going around being stupid not-give-a-fuck. Instead of this stupid confidence circle-jerking, just buy Mark Manson's Models or something like that. At least he has a plan with some good justification. It's not even understood exactly what is meant by confidence. It is actually a whole bunch of things bound up together: knowledge, experience with women, experience with your job, venue or locale, free of anxiety or shame, maturity, fashion-sense (feelin…

Do what you feel comfortable doing, not what someone says you should do. But he just told me to do what I'm comfortable doing! Therefore I shouldn't do what I'm comfortable doing? Someone told me I should just be myself, therefore I've not been myself. Then isn't it being myself to not be myself? I think the key to enlightenment is to one-hand clap the meaning of these koans.

I got my girlfriend with a similar thing. If I was to generalize, really women respond to a certain demeanor in your face. This demeanor is triggered by you talking about passionate subjects, you get wholly into it. It's a thing, especially for intellectual men, but it needs to be authentic and not supplicating, looking for a reaction, etc. For guys thinking that only jocks get laid, you couldn't be more wrong. It also sucks sometimes though: It is exactly when I am the most serious about talkin…

There's no line. As per usual, it all depends on how it is being written out, or the maturity and/or experience of the spectator. The worst critics of any game principles are the foreveralone virgins who are still running into walls trying to follow the script, they think kissing a woman without asking first is "rapey". For women, generally, if you have to ask, the answer is no. "No" is the reaction, the bodily response to escalation. Escalation is the question itself. There's no need to verbali…

It really isn't "dark side" vs "light side" PUA. It's "mature" vs "immature" PUA. Or you might as well say "experienced" vs "inexperienced" PUA. With maturity, the perspective of the experienced, "dark" looks "light", "light" looks stupid, evil looks profound. Game is all about the ends justifying the means, and in a way that women and white knights won't fully comprehend until they've been there. Game, in some ways, is the art of moving on, of not deciding to stick with one woman because she se…

I thought this was common knowledge but...modeling is for women, not men. Different sorts of modeling is for different tiers of women, and there's a subsection of women who are interested in the ability to attract men while intimidating them...all but the alpha-est of men I guess. Edit: Actually, what I wrote is actually wrong. It really has nothing to do with men at all, we're at best minor characters or even extras, a sort of subplot of a subplot concerning what women are really thinking about…

Mistake #3: You reflect everything you feel inside. If you're bitter, angry and disenfranchised you're going to seek validation of those feelings everywhere. Put good vibes into the world and get that back. This is the blue pill all over again. Most of us have been "putting good vibes into the world", but those were "the old days" when we were young, idealistic, and naive. Especially with regard to women, things didn't turn out the way we expected. Then we start learning about game, and read sed…

Love this post by /u/leodoestheopposite though: http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/151z5j/male_redditors_what_hints_have_girls_given_you/c7il022 The interesting thing is that the truth is exactly the opposite of what feminists have been complaining about. Men are being conditioned into not doing what is natural. We're being creep-shamed, male sexuality is being demonized, and this is a social system that, at least in this sort of case, manufactures AFC's.

One of the most important things I learned from game came from Mark Manson. He's not really a "red pill" author, but he at least admits to this much: female sexuality is narcissistic. Women desire being desired. Therefore, "assume attraction". Looking at this in terms alpha=high-T is also interesting. Testosterone makes men horny. Female attraction selects for high-testosterone. Therefore, female attraction selects for men who are horny. Biggest change and improvement to my game was: No longer r…

I see your point. And to be fair, having men do more of the cooking can only be a good thing: We eat differently. Women cook with their hormones, and are probably a big reason why there is so much obesity and plain bad health in America. I eat very different than my girlfriend eats. I'm teaching her since we've been together: I eat to live, she lives to eat. I don't think I'll convert her in time.

Yep. There is good reason to be an asshole, frankly. Sadly, I have yet to truly regret treating someone badly (and I'm not even drawing gender lines). Sadly, too many times I've said to myself "I'm glad I treated that person badly when I did, because now it is justified, he/she justified my bad behavior for me." And then there are hot women. Yes, I'm a beta, and most hot women are on a pedestal to me. I know better, and I don't act like it; but I also know that these women have a lot of sexual v…

It's just really sad. Look, beta guys, it's not that you're missing all the hints that women are giving out, it's that you're not getting "hinted at" at all. Look, I'm by most definitions still a beta, but after taking the red pill I know better. Taking the red pill won't make you an alpha, but it will give you your dignity back.

Hear, hear! I think the misunderstanding here is what is understood when people talk about "looks". The confusion is in thinking that the opposite sex looks at sexual attraction, sex appeal, in the same way they do. For men, I'd rather say "demeanor" than "looks", but only if you understand "looks" as an essential part of your demeanor. When a guy sizes up his own looks, he'll fallback to the way men see women: He'll smile in the mirror, he'll pose in front of a full length mirror with his shirt…

Have priorities. Probably just this. Look, if you're in this relationship, and it might go long-term, remember that at best you'll be her number two. The maternal instinct is stronger than the feminine instinct, and she will want a child more than a man. So don't make her your number one when, at best, you'll only be her number two. You need to have a life and a mission beyond her, and a whole world or inner life that she will scarcely understand. Basically, make her you number two.

Maybe it's just the girl I'm with then. She doesn't mean to do it, and feels bad seeing the bruising she does to me, but it's one of her tells. I asked her about it and she doesn't do this while she's orgasming, but while she is climbing up to orgasm. This is pretty much when it clicked. I've had women do this before, so I know it can't be that uncommon. I know all women are different, but there is a distinctive need to explain this instinct. Women are hypergamous. That is, women have an innate sense of sizing guys up, avoiding losers, and looking for men who are "good enough" for them. I'd avoid thinking that women have "types". Women don't actually have types, they just usually believe they do. It's almost cliche when a woman who thinks she only goes for a certain type is suddenly baffled and bewildered to suddenly find a guy that she just can't stop thinking about but who is completely the wrong "type". I think there should be a subreddit (or there might already be one) that is just male fashion, for people who are interested in variety. But if you have forum dedicated to "fashion advice" I think that comes with the territory. You have to have some kind of standard of what "good fashion" is in order to give people fashion advice. Otherwise, it's just "anything goes". That said...the tips I've picked up from MFA seem to not be working...

You should probably try to find someone outside of your friend group. If you are already friends with women in your friend group, you have to ask yourself why you aren't already dating them? The reason is there even if you don't know it. Don't be afraid of pick-up. It doesn't mean that you have to become a player.

Your post might get deleted by the mods, but the best answer comes from Mark Manson: Self-investment. Work on your education, career, sophisticated hobbies, travel, be well-read, etc. Also, you need to know what you want out of life, find your values, and this will help you find good friends and vice-versa. A strong reality and a strong sense of identity aren't the same thing, but you'll develop one with the other. Strong identity is your assurance in yourself, strong reality is your assurance i…

Hear, hear! You hear, from time to time on seddit, a division about "the friend zone". Some even think that having a bunch of LJBFed female friends is good preselection. But you can tell who the red pill/alphas on seddit are, because they understand this as negative preselection. Positive preselection is being surrounded by women who want you or at least seem to want you. That's a good point. It is his choice (love the toned down moralizing lately). But you definitely want to avoid the frame of "I'm better than your BF." If he's already her BF, then he's already proven himself "good enough". It's unstable, from her POV, because she thinks she's lost that connection with him. You need to increase your vulnerability in such a situation.

Hmm...generally, I would side with less manscaping to more. I have plenty of body hair, and the women I've been with didn't used to like it until they became intimate with me. It's an acquired taste, and women seem to have an easy time acquiring it. I wouldn't do too much, because I think it is a turn off for women to think that you're spending effort to please them. It's also seen as feminine, which is a turn off. Thing is, when a woman likes you, she'll mold herself to fit you. Women are elast…

Well, I think all women are hypergamous. You've probably had positive experiences with women probably because you're sufficiently high value. A guy like me isn't going to "get to the good ones" just by assuming that women aren't hypergamous. Rather, understanding hypergamy just makes it understandable what my position is. All women? Most women? Which women? Based on what data? Your experiences? Your girlfriends? Those questions sound rhetorical. Why even bother if you don't even care about the answers. This sub is for beta men to whine to each other about how certain women in their lives exploited their beta personalities. Big shit. You think you're a psychologist? You're a misogynistic whimp. Strange. Your post sounds more like whining than anything I've written. If this is your attitude, just leave.

Here's an example. No indirection: I want to have sex with you. One level indirection: You're making me horny. Two level indirection: I love what you're doing to me. Each level of indirection requires that the target makes an inference: I love what you're doing to me because you're making me horny because I want to have sex with you. One level of indirection is generally not enough, and it activates the ASD. Two levels is tactful and disarming, but it's also a good way of stating your intentions…

My problem is that this sub simplifies things too much. Sometimes we're just not the best communicators. We link to Rollo's blog, for instance, because he communicates things better that we can. For instance, women aren't gold diggers, they are hypergamous. But since "hypergamy" isn't a word that most people know, we try to explain it more simply. But then when we try to explain these concepts more simply, we get the accusation "this sub simplifies things too much." Lot's of women have a great d…

I'm sexist, chauvinist, but not misogynist. I'd like to reclaim the term sexism. There can be benign sexism that tributes to the fact that there are fundamental differences between men and women deep down. Women aren't merely men with vaginas, the sexual differences go all the way down and up in a person, both physiologically and psychologically. As a speculative guess, a sort of abduction, the average in difference in height between men and women all across the world is about 8%. So I would pre…

I find it fairly easy to have really great, stimulating conversations on a variety of intellectual topics with most of the women I let into my life. You're a lucky man. But if you look outside of your particular oasis, you'll realize quickly why women are the ones who follow celebrities, watch E!, read tabloids, and why STEM fields are dominated by men. A lot of men think that a shit test always comes in the form of bitchiness or sarcasm, but women test more often with lures of access to their sexuality as a measure of men’s Alpha fitness. Bingo. There are tests of sexual deprivation. Another example of this is with hugging/touching. Kino and hugging can be alpha, especially when you are initiating it, but watch how you break contact. If you break contact first, if you end the hug before she does, you'll feel more alpha to her than if you are b…

sexual frame is just about everything being about sex. dirty. dirty. think dirty. misinterpret everything. innuendo here. subtext there. everything you say drips in sexual subtext. everything she says you misinterpret or process as her saying she wants to fuck you. Careful with this. Unless you're in the top-10% of guys in looks, this could cause her to eject. What you say is right, but make sure to use two levels of indirection. Here's two more for you: c. Sexual Innuendos You need to be kind of clever here. When you first meet a woman, you don't really want to be overt, so use sexual innuendos that you can get away with. When a guy hangs around a woman hoping that she'll like him and/or throw herself at him without letting her know what he wants, that is deceitful. Really? Shit, this also describes 99% of women out there! That creepiness comes from a lack of clear intentions. Bullshit. Here, turn the roles around. Why the hell would the best term for "creepy, manipulative guy who strings women along, pretending to be friends, only to make a sexual advance when you have already gotten close to her" be Nice Guy? Like pk_atheist said, I didn't justify that women are solipsistic and narcissistic. There are many reasons for this, the primary reason is because women are the bearers of the womb. In evolutionary terms, women are primary, men are secondary, and genuine concern beyond themselves and the people they love is just a fundamental absurdity to them. Yeah. But especially look at creep shaming in terms of preselection, as it's essentially negative preselection. The worst words you want to hear from an HB: "Don't touch me." The thing is, women seem to understand preselection better than men do. Women I know who show interest, only do so discretely, they don't want you gaining advantage from their show of interest. Yeah. I'm not defending feminism, it just seems superficial compared to the feminine imperative. In some ways feminism is the overt social structure of the feminine imperative after the wake of widely available birth control (birth control is basically the essence of feminism, IMO). One thing we should be careful of, in my opinion, is distinguishing between feminism and the feminine imperative. Feminism is a relatively new social and political movement; the feminine imperative is as old as time. The glorification of single mothers as heroes, and not as women merely struggling to fulfill their responsibilities doesn't come from feminism, it comes…

But their dickhead behavior is an effect of what makes them attractive, not the cause of it. Awesome. I kind of thought that a lot of this ideology is about reversing cause and effect. I read blogs like Heartiste's blog, and whenever a certain conversation or response is considered alpha, it's usually only alpha because the woman is already highly invested in him. Basically, hot woman throws herself at him, he shrugs her off, ALPHA!

It's the same guys who are attractive to most women, and it isn't wholly about looks? When I think of "the alpha hypothesis", this is what I think of. But at least he is living with a woman he loves, and who loves him back, and they are starting a family. I know they have issues...she wants a house and to go to college, and right now she makes more than he does. There's a lot of stress there. But all things considered, he's better off than I am. Seriously though, im looking for a woman who doesn't jus…

However, I think you are ignoring the women who don't. That's sort of like a god of the gaps fallacy. I'm a guy who is absolutely not like him, and you probably aren't either, so where are these women who are ignoring him and instinctively want to take their clothes off for me? To be fair, I'm not interested in the little girls who fall for that kind of guy. This is like a woman saying, "To be fair, I'm not interested in immature men who are attracted to round, pert asses, youthful faces, full l…

Keep consoling yourself. Ultimately, you have to figure out if women are your ultimate priority, and whether you'll be envious of the guys who just get laid by hot women easily. If you can find other happiness, genuine happiness and not just some activity that you call happy with all due bitterness, then you can actually compete with the natural alphas, not with women, but with life.

Yep. Pretty quotable and true: "Only women 'lose' their virginity." Men need to understand this. You don't have hymens...wtf. But the bigger issue that Rollo calls Adams out on is how he is talking like a woman: Losing his virginity, desiring a relationship, thinking that she's "afraid of commitment." You see how strong the female imperative is when they have men talking and thinking like women. As a man, you don't actually want any of this stuff. Commitment should be what your girlfriend is beg…

IMHO, female attraction selects for testosterone. Basically, all of the effects of testosterone are the primary attraction triggers, and demeanor is definitely an effect of testosterone. I know a guy who does really well with women, not a guy who I'd get along with, but has the demeanor naturally: I suspect that his body just produces naturally high levels of testosterone. He's actually pretty skinny (effect of testosterone but without working out), has anger issues (punches holes in the wall wh…

I suggest the book "Please Understand Me II". This book has actually helped me out mainly in qualifying women, but I'm sure there're other uses too. I've found that I want to be with women who communicate abstractly, who have a tolerance, or even enjoy, ideas for their own sake. And that is it. The problem is that this is a rare quality, and I'll even sacrifice in terms of looks for this quality. I simply vibe better with women like this, and want a companion. That's why I'm in seduction for. Th…

Ugly guys do, but they can't do it the way attractive guys do it. I'm pretty ugly by reddit standards, still pretty beta/rAFC, but I've had a few hot women just show interest in me. I really couldn't real them in because of total lack of game. Demeanor/swagger is more important than looks IMHO.

Ever had a hot girl get into you even though you're an average/ugly looking guy? I have. Female attraction triggers are just really weird. It's too simple to say that women operate the way men do. For example: Pre-selection. Women will become interested in you for no other reason than that other women are also interested in you. That's fucking weird from a male perspective, our attraction is absolute.

I think you are the textbook case of someone who doesn't give value. No one's going to invite you out to things for you, they'll only do it for them. They have to be thinking "I need to have that guy come." Now, unfortunately, most of the reasons why people are invited out to things are superficial: They are sexually attractive. They will bring a clique. They will improve the status of the event. Or you could just offer to bring liquor.

Not sure what you mean by security. I think you're thinking in a MRA frame here, which is fine, but it's not how I usually think of the issue. In terms of the red pill, you don't get security in your relationship by legal contracts and government punishments, but by being your woman's alpha so she has no compulsion to stray. Don't be beta, don't marry an alpha widow, etc. Your only security is if your wife doesn't want to leave you.

Well...marriage isn't the same thing as committing. A long-term relationship, even if it's boyfriend/girlfriend, is considered committing and is supposed to be exclusive. You can commit without marriage. And if you have a casual sexual relationship with her...are you really talking about marriage? Do you feel that strongly about her that you want to marry her? This isn't a Field Report, it's a Brag Report. Mind laying out what worked, and what didn't work? Your kind of success on OkC is rare. Many of us think it's mainly the attractiveness of your pictures. Some have interesting photos and humorous profiles. You don't mention anything useful really. Shame.

I'm definitely still an rAFC. I haven't been approaching as much as I should be, focusing mainly on becoming less of a recluse, improving my style and fitness, and whatever I can do to improve my inner game. I'm sill pretty new at this...discovered it when I was 29.

Thanks for that. I think I got better than a hug. But she says that she "loves my brain" and says "you win, you definitely win" several times. I think my problem is 100% game. Our kiss didn't wow her, due to relative inexperience on my part. And I should have been more dominant and escalated more.

Well, she left. The context was obviously with her leaving, otherwise she would have invited me in. Maybe I'll write an FR on this, because there might be a few useful things from it, and maybe more context is needed for people to critique me.

Sorry...I did tell her I wanted to have sex with her. Yeah, I shouldn't have said it like that, but I was in honesty-mode with her, and this was basically when she said "And on that note, it's time to go." But she did engage in a little banter, look me in the eyes in a really sexy way, and gave me a kiss. Maybe I'm just reading things wrong...

Yeah. I do check out /r/okcupid every now and then, and one thing that seems to work isn't so much being hot (unless you're already in the top-10%, and then a lot of women pass those guys up), but just having very interesting pictures. Pictures of you out doing interesting things with other people: no mirror shots, no bar shots, no posing on vacation shots. But this is hard to stage, which is why it's DHV. Possible examples: Exploring an abandoned building with friends. Party around a bonfire wi…

Ah. I'm doing better on POF than I did on OkCupid, maybe I should retry/reactivate my OkCupid account. I think what is missing from these dating site discussions is what people's profile pictures look like. That's 80% of what matters on dating sites, IMHO. I'm not all that good looking (about a 6/10), don't make a lot of money, aren't educated, and so my SMV is low and I don't usually have a lot of success on dating sites. I'm just saying how it is. I just came back from a first date. K-close and lots of conversation: Our personalities seem to meld together perfectly, we think and speak very similarly. We were touching almost the whole time. But I don't think I built any sexual attraction in her. I think she's romantically interested, but not sexually interested. I'm not interested in playing her...looking for a romantic relationship, but not if she's not sexually interested in me. Is there any hope for me changing things in a day two? I'm …

Glad you're bringing this up, because I'm going out with a shy girl tonight. I did have a girl with serious anxiety issues, and it all just sort of went away once I put my arm around her. So I'm just going to try to be forward with the kino, and just lead the interactions with a strong frame. We texted a bit, but I decided to call her because I didn't want her flaking due to nervousness (this happens more than we know!). I don't know. If you have some sort of chronic anxiety, you need to deal with that. But if you're like me, and have reclusive habits, then it's just normal anxiety. BTW, anxiety is normal. Doesn't mean you have a mental illness. You can do all that stuff, but I doubt it will help. Yeah, taking small steps is what you should do, but going to the gym and taking vitamins is just irrelevant to what you're trying to accomplish. You get better at going out by going out. AFC's do a lot of rationalizing I've noticed. Just about everytime I hear someone on reddit use the term "douchebag" it's about some guy they are envious of. Also oneitis..."she has such a great soul"...no, it's called being hot, and in your proximity. If a guy is scarce of female companionship, he'll eventually latch on to the Closest Potential Female (CPF). Yeah, I just coined that term. Just now. Truth.

That is part of your character, you either have it or you don't. Yep. But it's hard to tell what sort of character women dig. We say "alpha" but what does that mean? It's not "just confidence". Confidence is just adaptation to your circumstances. Alpha confidence is either a form of preselection (confidence with women implies experience with women) or dominance ("It is better to be feared than loved" --Machiavelli). Here's a subtle difference between the alpha and beta characters: How fidgety ar…

I should do an FR of a #-close I had last night. I guess I disagree with the following: In my case, I think I actually did create attraction by DHVing and maintaining a strong frame. When you think about it, for online dating to work at all, you kind of have to be able to create attraction/interest to get the date at all. I don't know about just posting your phone number and hoping she texts it. In my case, I was constantly underinvesting, and she was overinvesting, and she gave me her number. T…

My thought: It's actually a numbers game, just like pick-up. You just need to be constantly meeting new people until you find people who you click with, who hopefully know other people who you would also click with. Pro-tip: Meet gay guys. A lot of straight guys just know other straight guys, because they are constantly trying to hook up with HB's. But gay guys generally have a decent number of HB friends.

Thought about confidence: Confidence is really just an adaptation, and it comes from experience. It took me a while just getting confident in bars. Confidence with women is the same thing...the more experience and success you have with women, the more confidence you'll seem to have. Take the most alpha guy you know, put him in a foreign environment, and he'll lose his confidence. But really, the confidence that women look for in men is just another form of pre-selection.

A good rule of thumb is that anything abnormal about her is obscenely normal to her. The only Indian girl in town is going to hear all the time about things related to being Indian. And identical twin is going to hear all the time comments about being an identical twin.

I think this is why a lot of sedditors say not to use lines as openers. You could just use "Hi, I'm Kevin." Maybe de-emphasize the opener, because lines themselves sound sort of needy.

I'm more interested in factual theories (theories consistent with observable facts). I meant the contrast in the sense that theories are the overarching explanation for the facts. You lose interest quickly for the unexplained, isolated facts. I took the test, and it told me I'm Guardian Supervisor (ESTJ). Then I pegged you wrong then. Or maybe you're just right about the test being hokey.

I know personality and intelligence is highly related, but that you enjoy thinking for it's own sake, you're more interested in theory than facts, you spend more time in your head than looking for stimulation externally...these are all aspects of your temperament. Some people see inconsistencies in their own logic...they just don't care. For me, it bothers me. I may not be all that intelligent, and will make mistakes, but when I notice the inconsistency or someone points it out to me, I'm distur…

Have you ever had your temperament tested? I'm actually really skeptical of it as a comprehensive theory, but I do think there's a sense to the idea that if you're in one of the minority temperaments (you and I are probably both Rationalists), then it's hard to get attracted to the personality of most of the women out there. I'm saying, it may not be about intelligence, but about personality.

/r/seduction19/10/12 05:06 PM

I disagree with you, and agree with the OP. You want to polarize women quickly: Either they have some interest in you, or they don't. You want to know right away. It's stupid to try to string a girl along who will never be intimate with you. This is why you guys get friend zoned. You need to take risks guys.
/r/seduction19/10/12 03:10 PM

You sort of need to know the difference between character and temperament. Your temperament never changes, but your character can. So the idea is to make your character more seduction, but not trying to change your temperament.

I think a lot of us understand this. I'm an introvert, but I'm not shy. There are probably a lot of introverts here...the internet is a natural place for introverts to come to. It's basically socializing where you can decide how long you want to take part, who you want to talk to, what conversation you want to enter, which message you want to reply to, etc. The internet is an introvert's paradise. Practice letting women walk out that door if you're not getting enough interest. Yes, you may have to learn how to get women in the door if you can’t already do that. I think this is the main question that many of us rAFC's have. How do you know when she's in the door? I think I tend to try an alpha frame too early, and it just turns her off and ejects too soon.

Honestly, this really isn't something you can control. I don't know if you know about personality types, but for example I'm an INTP. The last letter represents Perceiving, and the alternative is Judging, so there are INTJ's. The thing is...I don't think this really affects your game really. Both P's and J's get laid. I know people who are obviously J's, and they just see people and are instantly judging or evaluating them, and that's just how they are. You ask my opinion about someone, and a lo…

It's mainly medication. I just take generic Ritalin everyday. Trust me, I tried everything I could think in those 20 years to get my life on track short of medication: Making lists, organization systems, self-help books, diet, exercise, and they were all exercises in frustration. I had to make a physiological change to my body. I'm just lucky that it's just one pill I have to take, and there are hardly any side-effects.

IMHO, you really don't. Just weigh yourself everyday. Understand there's going to be variation and fluctuation, but if you're not losing on average 2 lbs/week, then you know you need to eat less. Keep track of what you're eating somehow, you don't need to write it down. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, then it's going to be about life-long habits. Sure, you could count calories, but do you realistically see yourself counting calories for the rest of your life? Then don't rely on this …

Sorry...but the idea of watching a movie with a PUA theme before you go sargeing is laughable. Honestly, it's probably better that you avoid watching most Hollywood movies, especially dorky romantic comedies. Most movies, and their romantic plots, are beta-fantasy movies where the bumbling fool gets the girl sort of thing. Probably try to find movies with strong masculine characters that you can look up to.

Okay, think about Mario and Luigi. Luigi is taller, and bigger. They both fight enemies and conquer the castles, but it is only Mario who ever kisses Princess Toadstool. Bigger dudes have the advantage only because their size intimidates other guys or makes them doubt themselves. You can actually be bigger than a bigger guy through body language.

That said, there are lots of guys a lot worse off than I am. Aside from my looks, my difficulty won't be getting laid, but getting into a relationship. Pretty much. I've been thinking lately, and there are a couple of threads on /r/askwomen that have given me things to chew on. Here we talk about cold approach, and it seems that the majority of women really want a warm approach. It's not really a shit test. I think Mystery calls it a protection shield. Women, especially HB's, get hit on a lot. So there are a lot of things they do to reduce the number of guys who will hit on them. Remember, this isn't because she's not interested in you per se, but it's a sort of defense mechanism against the number of guys hitting on her, and perhaps some degree of protection against back pick-up attempts, or creepy and dangerous guys. So telling guys "I have a boyfriend" is just exampl…

This is going to sound really stupid, but if it works, it works. If you are self-conscious about your penis size, clip/shave your pubic hair. Strangely, I walk around with a feeling of cock-privilege now. Seduction is a game of numbers. Take risks, and you’ll win some and you’ll lose some. But heck at least you’re winning some. Yep. You measure by the number of women you've had sex with; not the number of women who've rejected you.

Thanks for your post, and I'm glad to see some honesty. You're basically questioning the concept of game, which is good to criticize honestly. The idea that game can create attraction that doesn't exist...it's a staple of the PUA community, but I had an experience last night where it just felt more like a meat market. Mark Manson has this concept where there are three kinds of women: Negative, women who would never have any interest in you; neutral, women who don't lean either way; and positive,…

That's a very interesting point relating warm approach with FB and social circles. I've been rather anti-Facebook game, but in the context of developing your social circle, it kind of makes sense. You don't actually have to friend people in order to message them. You could just message a friend of a friend, and you have an in through your Facebook friend, or you could even use your Facebook friend to introduce you. But it seems a lot more sticky.
/r/seduction13/10/12 08:37 PM

I think it's always been time for social circle gaming. Problem is, social circle game isn't really game. I mean, you can't make it into HB's social circles without having high value. That's the whole point. Social circle game == developing high value.

My thinking has been that looks do matter. I think there are two kinds of guys: Those who are in the top 10% in looks, and the rest of us. So it's not like a ranking system. Unless you're an HG9, your looks really don't matter. If you're an HG9, then your game is basically not screwing things up. If you're not an HG9, then your looks don't matter, and you need more game. Eh, people are going to say meditation, but check your fundamentals first: sleep, nutrition, stress. Also, we all go through a cycle where sometimes we're feeling upbeat and positive, and other times we're feeling down and glum. We're not "always on". I don't know. I've had similar issues with venues...mainly the male:female ratio, and just general low attendance overall. I think the main thing is that game has to be constantly evolving. But I think it's silly to blame smart phones/Facebook/online dating. Have bars ever been the mainstream method women hooked-up? I think there's always been a negative stigma against bar pick-ups. Thing is...there's no such thing as "douchebagginess". In itself, it's a judgmental term, usually sour grapes or general bitterness. Honestly, I don't know what "stereotypically alpha douchebag behavior" is. Alpha behavior, generally, is the kind of behavior you can get away with, and thus people will respect you more, once you already have the respect and admiration of the people around you. Yeah, I heard it. I liked it at first, because it romanticizes an element of my self-image. But then I realized...who says that these sigma males actually get laid? All the examples are fictional characters. So I tried to think of actual examples of sigma males. Maybe you guys can think of more, but here's one sure candidate: Friedrich Nietzsche. Did he get laid? It's hard to say. What about the man who wrote this: I love the forest. It is bad to live in cities: there too many are in heat. Is it…

Before trying to fake, check your fundamentals: stress, sleep, nutrition. Take a multi-vitamin and fish oil everyday. Try exercise. Frustration with job and social circle sounds like it's probably stress. I'd have to know more about what is going on to give any further advice. If your fundamentals are in trouble, you're going to have a really hard time "faking it".

Text game is as devoid of value as Facebook game. Neither constitute game. Both are feeble attempts to get around approach anxiety, and you basically acquire low-value by association with all the other low value guys who are messaging her, liking her pictures and complimenting her. Use text messages, Facebook, etc for communication, not for seduction/attraction. My best Facebook "game" has been in not being available on Facebook...she was thinking about me an entire week one time, hoping to find…

You might want to check yourself when people tell you to cheer up. Might sound strange, but you're not actually always aware of your emotions. You can be depressed even if you don't feel depressed, and people can read it on your face even if you're not aware of it.

Close...but I kind of disagree. I hate appeals to confidence that only go half way. There are no facts, only interpretations. I can usually tell how beta a guy on here is by the number of "facts", of "I am" or "he has" qualities he spouts. Why? Because everytime a girl rejects him, or everytime he's envious of some other guy, he takes another dump on himself and tries to figure out "why". Ask a beta what do women really want, and he'll tell you a bunch of stuff, but says it is mainly [whatever f…

I agree with this. It's all about entitlement. If you just say "Thanks" by itself, and move on to the next thing/conversation thread, you're subcommunicating that you get complimented often. You really need to subcommunicate that deserve the compliment. "You too" implies "Whoa...she gave me more compliment than I deserve, I better give back the change!"

What do you think about genuine compliments? I definitely understand the feel of being like her girlfriend that butters her up, but I'm thinking in the nearly involuntary sense. For instance, you're talking, and she turns her head and you're distracted by her hair. You say, "Whoa." She smiles and asks "What?" You say, "I just really like your hair." Then you cut back to the conversation thread. I thought that this is a good exception to the "no compliments" rule.

I think the issue is semantics here. You're calling every bitchy thing a woman says a "shit test". It's not, and you're just going to confuse everyone. If she's genuinely annoyed with you, and wants you to leave, it's not a shit test.

I'm not sure a lot of girls even believe in that Disney-style romance anymore. Probably so. I'm in midwest suburbia, so we're probably a little slow with the prevailing trends. Could depend on what tempo is the girl at: At a higher tempo, more attracted to cities, etc, maybe she just wants to be stimulated, and sex is another form of stimulation. But low tempo girls are pretty passive, not actually superficial, but also end up in some bad relationships. I think more guys by into it then girls do…

Eh...problem is, people who say "objectification of women" don't actually know what they are talking about. Objectification is supposed to be about "sex sells" and the idea that the only power a lot of women have is in their sexuality, and this sexuality becomes a commodity on the market. In context, it refers to the HB-scale, the insane notion that some women are more attractive than other women, and that this judgment is pretty universal among men. In this sense, "the objectification of women"…

There's should a be term for this, but it's like if you hate Arabs, you're going to talk about terrorism; if you hatee Christianity, you're going to talk about bombing abortion clinics; etc. A lot of women basically hate the idea of PUA. It's like hoverhands, but with conversation, and for the same reason: Fear of coming across creepy. Still a rAFC, but I've realized that the creep line is much further than I used to think it was. I did OkCupid for a while, but gave up on it. It might work for certain kinds of guys there. Two tips that might have improved things for me: You need attractive and interesting photos. Most women are shallow, and online dating makes guys look like a buffet. One bad picture will hurt your chances. Also, you need photos of you actually doing something, not just standing around posing for the camera, and no mirror shots. This implies that you do interesting things, and have people around you who t…

Use the golden ratio: Show interest to her 2/3 as much as she shows interest in you. Keep her between validation and rejection. Also..."expressing interest honestly"...need to know what you mean by that. Something to consider: Give only authentic compliments. No, I don't mean, "Of course she's pretty, so I should call her pretty right?" I mean only give compliments when you have those "wow" moments. Calling a woman a slut isn't negging. That's what I call "bitching out". In other words, the guy has no self confidence and shitty inner game, believes that rejection is immanent, and thus decides to call her a slut to protect his ego. The method on how to do this is in Mystery Method, page 76, paragraph 4.

There's no contradiction. You can approach women, and still have women approach you. Personally, pick-up is a skill that I think is important for me to learn and become confident in. That's 80% of the reason why I'm doing this. Plus, it gives you the opportunity to be able to pick and choose which women you want to go for.
/r/seduction18/09/12 05:25 PM

I think that approaching is something that comes naturally the more you do. People talk about confidence, and the more often you approach women, and as long as those approaches don't go horribly, you'll become confident at approaching. This is a good skill to have, in my opinion.

Yeah, I agree with your last point. There's this bad association where outer game = manipulation. It's not, or at least not in a bad way. Here's a better association: Outer game = You know what you're doing when seducing a girl. You're (at least) one step ahead of her during the entire process. You know she likes you before she does.

Just speculating, because I'm poor, but two thoughts: Try using two levels of indirection. Don't say that you are wealthy or successful, and don't indirectly refer to you being wealthy or successful. Don't we know better than you how to pick us up? Nope. One of the biggest fallacy there is. It's actually a set of fallacies all bundled up in one. First, at best, you only know about you, and not about what works on women in general. Women aren't all alike, and those differences matter. Second, just because you're a woman doesn't mean that you have a critical mind in giving advice. Lets say a guy picks you up successfully, and you liked X, Y, and Z and this is why you went out with him. But it …

Here's something I learned from Mark Manson: You can't be afraid to polarize women. I agree that your post sounds too deferential. By polarize, Mark means that if she likes you, then she's really going to want you to sit with her. If she doesn't like you, then she's really going to not want you to sit with her. So stop being afraid. You're trying to avoid that risk, but it is exactly that risk which women find the most attractive in guys. You need to be willing to put yourself out there. She's j…

To make sure we don't end up getting used. No. Shit tests are to ensure that the guy she's dating is as masculine, high value, or as attractive as she thinks he is. The puzzle box mentality is because women, largely, are a puzzle box. The same women who are complaining about players are the women who are dating nothing but players. The key to this story is that she already had sex with him. I think generally guys are more anxious prior to sex; girls are more anxious after sex. That's why I admire the advice I've heard here: If you want to get into a relationship with a woman, go for having sex with her first. To put it crudely, this is when the "balance of power" changes between male and female.

I'm going to name one that you guys will probably miss: Being willing to take risks to get what you want. If you want to understand what women mean by a guy being boring, a general lack of risk-taking, of always playing it safe, is pretty much the definition. This is why drug dealers generally have an easier time with women. Warning: Risk-taking is risky. You might end up broke, in jail, etc.

The fallacy of female attraction This is the general idea, and I didn't just learn it there, but all over the place in the seduction community, but this is a pretty concise view of it. What women want in a guy is by no means the same as what she desires in a guy. I think the difference is that arrogant means you're placing more value on yourself than you actually have. Cocky means you actually do have high value, and you're not afraid of throwing it in people's faces. You're probably making the same mistake I do: We make a game out of talking ourselves up, but since everyone knows we're not really as high value as we say we are, it actually ends up being just another form of self-depreciation.

This is a really interesting comment. On the surface, it's obviously false. Many guys are rejected. They just weren't good enough for her. But...first, isn't accepted/rejected a framing? After you have sex with the girl a couple times, she will initiate with you and you can assume the 'chased' role easily. So simply, escalate to sex earlier. This is a great point. You're right. The OP misused the term "outer game". Other than that, I agree with the OP. Looks matter a hell of a lot, just not as much as most guys think, but more than the inner game and moar confidence gurus think. My main two problems with it is: I've never heard of a woman saying she had "that special moment" while having dinner with a guy. Dinner is just very static and boring. Going to community college sucks when it comes to meeting people, as most people just want to get there, take their classes, and get the fuck out. Agreed. I'm going to CC too but as an older student, and I'm actually doing the opposite of what the OP is doing. Don't look like you're trying to build your social life at community college. People are there primarily to try to get through their classes, that's why clubs are scarce and near non-existent at CC. Personally, I haven't even looked at sch…

That's the thing, value is often different for guys and girls. By women, you're pretty much just talking about HB's. I can tell...the non-HB's don't actually have this mindset. They aren't getting guys asking for their numbers all the time. But if you're some sort of celebrity, for example, guys will have the same mentality. But you're deriving your data from the guys you know...who probably aren't high value. HB's have value just from being attractive. Non-HB's pretty much have the same mentali…

Yep, pretty much. What I love about seddit (or at least seddit before the white knight invasion) is that it was based on the way the world actually is, not on the way guys think the world should be. Looking at the world in terms of how you think it should be makes it paradoxical. For instance, why would doing more for the company you work for actually cause you to lose their respect? Why doesn't your boss value your ideas after they have been found to be successful? Here's a subtle tip: If you e…

This isn't the mind of a woman. This is the mind of anyone who is of relatively high value. It's one of many adaptations of being the object of other people's interest/desires. We really need to stop gendering things, it makes us blind to the way things really are.

Never did explain how you became the bad boy. I have a theory, based on the words of a female friend of mine who recently became infatuated with a guy. Become a guy who fundamentally doesn't like people. Isn't that the opposite of the "nice guy"? Not really an asshole, an asshole is judged by his actions. But all of the archetypes that women are attracted to, from the bad boy to the misanthropic intellectual (some girl on /r/dating_advice mentioned this as her "type") to the girls who dig guys i…

Eh, I think guys are pointing at the wrong thing. Feminism produces more problems for women than men. The problem isn't feminism, but female-dominated media, which has streaks of feminism, but usually diverges considerably from the interests of feminism.

So if, by this reasoning, all our ancestors were alphas, why are there so many (myself included, unfortunately) betas being spewed forth with absolutely zero idea how to do this stuff. It's because being alpha is a relative thing. Yeah, I read the Red Queen book, it's great, and the whole point of the title is the idea that you have to go as fast as you can to stay in one place. That's what being alpha really means. We're beta only because the competition has improved a bit more than we have.

I had a discussion with a female friend of mine last night, who was also reading seddit etc. She shared your opinion about games. I guess the way I see it is that this stuff is really just a way of trying to break free from the failure cycle that many of us are on. Many are bitter about this, but we live in a world success breeds success, and failure breeds failure, and this is true with women as well. The guys on the success cycle don't need any of this, they don't need "game". These are just t…

Doesn't sound like a shit test. This sounds like a really circumstantial statement. Is the circumstances seem date-like, then it's a date. Girls just want a cool guy that makes their friends jealous. Good looks is only a perk. Lot of truth to this statement, mainly with the younger girls (HS to about 22 years old). But being with a tall, hot, and athletic guy will go a long ways towards making their friends jealous. The height thing is real, in my experience. Do an mental survey sometime about all the girls you know. The more good looking the girl is, the taller her boyfriend. All the HB's have 6' or over.

Excellent. Best possible response to this cliched response on seddit. But the bigger problem is that most women aren't like you. Awesome FR. I think the biggest lesson I learned from this is that by being direct/aggressive, you're actually making the lay easier for her. She doesn't wasn't some guy she doesn't know very well coming over, and asking her a ton of questions, seeking validation, or ruining the sex for her by making it awkward. Great game!

The flipside of that too is that the girl was amazed that I would just leave after we had built so much attraction, and she texted me the next day and wanted to meet up. It's called DHV man. You know, the real practical lesson I get from hypergamy, is that women are generally only capable of being attracted to men who are of equal social status or greater. I'm 30 and pretty low on the social status ladder, and this is what I've found. Of course, less attractive women might settle for less, but I don't think they really like to. The other thing to consider is that while the gender ratio is 50/50, if you reduce the women to HB's, the ratio is a lot more warped. Since men are primarily attracted to looks, and obesity drastically reduces a woman's looks, the rise in obesity throws the marketplace strongly in the HB's favor.

In addition to the cause and effect confusion, it's very easy, and necessary i guess, for a person to backward-rationalise poor decisions. Yep, exactly. Sometimes called the female (or male) hamster. And he's seeing from the perspective of being her brother, so he's simply not getting all the facts. This is where a lot of naive ideas about women come from, really: People taking what women say at face value. They are going to tell you what they tell themselves, not how it is.

First, don't take dating advice from women. Second, err on the side of being more jerky than being more nice. Third, err on the side of being more creepy than being more neuter. It's just calibration. You need to find your limits through trial and error, just like all the guys do it. Yeah, you're seeing with your own eyes that the approach you're using fails, that the more aggressive approach works, and yet you're still holding back.

I wonder sometimes if high HB's do this sort of thing to shit test the guy she's with. Nice optimism, but losing weight is really hard. Generally, your odds are very low that an overweight/obese woman is going to lose that weight, even if she actually tries. Plus, there are few greater stigmas than against being the guy who tries to egg a girl on to lose weight. "For her health" sure, but I don't think any girl can't see through that.

In my opinion, neither the media, nor "women's media", are right. I'm going to generalize somewhat, but there is such thing as fat being right on a certain body. I mean, generally, overweight women would always be better off thinner; but some women can handle more fat better than other women. Really, you are supposed to have more body fat than us men. In my opinion, I want to see some sort of a waist on you, that's the most important thing. The worst fat on a woman is belly fat. If you're overwe…

Yeah...that's the irony of this whole thing. And even the OP, even though he thinks he believes it, and lives it to an extent, will keep returning to this epiphany of his, and each time it will become shocking, and deeper. Don't think that's a shit test. It's preselection...she's attracted to you because she saw you dancing with the other girl. Girls talk like this because it turns her on. Could use it to create a jealousy plotline: "Why, you jealous?" Actually, that's a form of agree and amplify right there.

I think it's usually an indicator of comfort. If you get an IOC too early, you're probably losing attraction; but in the comfort stage, means you're doing it right. Women often see themselves as dorks, so it makes her more comfortable around you. Too much IOC is friendzone.

Yeah, there's ego all around. It's interesting, but kind of sad, how much "who rejects who" affects the ego. It's the stupidest thing to think that one woman can determine your value as a male, but the ego doesn't understand this. Sadly, I've been on the "better" side of the rejection coin a few times, and even though I wasn't the right guy for them in either case, I still hear from them. Look, I'm a serious beta. Yeah, it's interesting how men and women are different about this. Women interrupt me constantly while I'm reading/watching TV, etc. It's because women understand value in terms of being social: Doing something by yourself means that you have nothing better to do. But when I'm reading a book, and I'm into it, I actually don't like being interrupted. I'll pass up social opportunities if it's something I want to read, or I'm in an intellectual mood and want to bone up on my logic book on my Kindle…

Yeah, I agree. It's all about strong frame, leading the interaction. IMO, if you are interacting with a girl, while doubting yourself thinking that you're bothering her, that's what bothers her. But with a strong enough frame, and enough confidence, you're actually adding value. Everyone enjoys interacting with a high value guy. The people who bother you are people you consider low value.

Basically, obsessing over one girl when there are literally hundreds/thousands/millions/more other girls out there. This is overstated. Practically speaking, the number of realistic options out there for a given person, in a particular locale, is probably between the hundreds or thousands range. If you're a world traveler, maybe it does go into the hundreds of thousands range, but that's only if this is part of your lifestyle. The problem with that is a lot of people consider confronting sexism or similar deviancies is white-knighting. It might be white-knighting, or it might be genuine social concern. The point of the white knight criticism is the motivation behind it. Well I guess that I interpret the suggestion that it's somehow "conservative" or "stupid" to expect that women (or men) not cheat to be a pretty major refutation of social expectations. Up to you, but what we're talking about seems to be a pretty gray area morally: Whether the person someone cheats with is morally culpable. Frankly, I don't really think it's up for grabs. It's 90% nature, and 10% early nurture. After about 4 years old, your orbit through life is pretty much determined. IIRC, personality traits are rather stable over a lifetime. If you're born an introvert, you're going to die an introvert; that's generally been the case. She might be polite to you, and then turn around and make fun of you to her friends. Or she might go comp…

Being disrespectful works, it's all over the place. When I first started my current job (at a nursing home, I'm surrounded by women all the time), the workers there wondered if I was gay. I started making friends there, and asked some of them about it, and they said it's because I'm nice. I asked some other women about it, and it turns out this is a thing. If you're a nice guy, girls are going to suspect you're gay. But there's also a domination aspect to it. You'll learn that women do this all …

Not really. From The 16 Commandments of Poon: X. Ignore her beauty The man who trains his mind to subdue the reward centers of his brain when reflecting upon a beautiful female face will magically transform his interactions with women. His apprehension and self-consciousness will melt away, paving the path for more honest and self-possessed interactions with the objects of his desire. Define "douchebag". Seriously, it's just a pejorative. People have a strong tendency to use pejoratives to describe people who have what they want, but can't have. Everytime I hear the term "douchebag" on seddit, or the internet in general, my reflex is to assume it's some bitter, resentful guy making the call. On the other hand, I have yet to hear much praise towards those guys who do get the awesome, hot girl. Generally, those guys are the douchebags according to reddit. So if you want the gir…

Yep. Attracting women should be a side-effect, or a hobby. Like I just wrote to the OP, if you try to become good enough for women, you'll never be. You need to internalize the prizing frame.

You didn't read the article at all, did you? Every word. IF you want to be happier and more successful (forget about women for a second), this will need to improve. You just don't understand my criticism. I guess I hurt your pride a little. You're confounding happiness, success, and value (worth). They don't all magically grow together. Why would they? Wow...you twisted his words around. I agree with him 100%. This post just emphasizes the "you're not good enough to be attractive" frame, which isn't even close to right. The problem is that dating/pick-up needs to be like a hobby, or something you do on the side. Yeah, out there, the task of trying to live the good life, or to get into a good life rhythm, remains. But if you try to live the good life in order to attract women, then you've lost the whole fucking point on why these things are att…

I think the difference is that validation is sort of taking value. "A hot girl likes me" is validation. Actually, if you enjoy social interaction because people like you, that's also taking value. I guess it's hard to get out of the transactional mindset. I'm at a loss right now to try to pin down what's wrong with it, but you'll never truly appreciate the prizing frame if you are taken by the transactional frame.

I've found that if I try to prepare interacting with someone, I tend to blow the interaction. So I prefer going in with a frame (awkward interaction is the same as pointless interaction for me), and I find that people appreciate someone providing a frame. People, fundamentally, want to be social, they want to exhibit their good qualities, and want someone who can take them out of their shells and defenses. It's the ancient idea that the vast majority of people want to be lead, they want to follo…

Part of the issue is the present culture of movies, news stories, women's magazines who glamorize the charming prince who will take care of them. Except that used to be the case, and still is to a large extent. The media can usually only reflect culture, it doesn't change it. Is the opposite even a thing? Oh absolutely. You can "learn" Java in 40 hours, the syntax, making programs, etc. But programming itself is hard in any language. Yeah, the trick to card counting is the so-called risk of ruin. You really need a large enough bankroll to start off with, and then you need lots of hours doing nothing but card counting to make any money doing it. Since it's a deleted thread, it doesn't hurt discussing it: I think in some cases they do conflict. PUA core value is entitlement, and feminism teaches that male privilege is a horrible thing. Most beginners have problems with ejecting though, rather than being in the set for too long, so at least try to stick in for 5-10 minutes. You're confusing. Yeah, you can be attracted to someone, and not do anything about it. So can women. Some other people have said he is a bit redundant in his post, it should be self-evident that girls in bars are indeed just like you'd meet anywhere else. Dunno, I guess I thought the other way, and that's because of all the people, mainly women, who have told me not to pick up girls at a bar. Why? I don't know, the reason was always given suggestively, as if those are desperate or low-class women in some way. Yeah, I've been reading through a lot of posts on his blog for a while now, and a lot …

An older blog post, but I thought it was interesting, and wanted to hear opinions about it. Especially what the post ended with: Only suckers throw away their time and money chasing the elusive “quality girl” through events, classes, or expensive but socially approved status- whoring hobbies. Bars are free. I think he makes a good point about the way bars sort of filter women out: You'll find more confident and extroverted women at bars. I think it also depends on the bar you go to though. Small…

Yep. It's interesting to browse through there to see evidence of what not to do, and to see seduction principles at work. There's a lot of bad advice, and butthurtiness in general, though. I think it's cool when I see a few guys on seddit who go on /r/dating_advice, etc, and help guys out who didn't even know anything like seduction exists.

I'm going to reiterate what the other guy is saying: don't call her out for not replying to your message. This will kill any attraction she could have had for you. You have a long way to go.

Best way of not coming off as needy: Don't be needy. It's only been 24 hours. And this: At first I thought she had ignored my message, However she hasn't posted any status or done anything that would indicate that she had logged on in this time. This. Enough of this. This is your needy state of mind talking. Work on inner game. Answer: Do nothing. Say nothing. Approach other girls. If she responds, respond with less investment than she has in your response.

She's too old...for what? You just want to talk to her. Why does it matter if she's married? Maybe she knows something useful. She looks trashy, but I bet she cleans up good. Outcome independence. Approaching women doesn't always have to be about getting laid. You're just a cool enough person that talking to women you don't know is just the kind of thing you do.

I'm saying this guy on this bus. He has a history of posting about girls on the bus he rides every day. It's sort of like his den, his comfort zone, and women occasionally have to enter his den in order go about their business. That's his substitute for dealing with approach anxiety. Not gonna work. Edit: I was just thinking about closed environments for a moment. There are probably ways of making it work, and socially cool people can deal with it. My suggestion: Forbid yourself from trying to pick up women on that bus. At best, just have friendly conversations with people, men or women. I guess at one time I was scarily close to your state. You're looking for an easy way to combat approach anxiety, but you don't realize this is turning you into a creep. You can approach women anywhere, just not on that bus, or in any other sort of closed environment. You need to combat your approach anxiety head on. Right now, you're being too timid. Be b…

I wonder if it has to do with the idea that you're "reciprocating". That sounds like you're reacting, playing tit-for-tat with her. Hmm...things brings an interesting thought. This is really interesting stuff, but the only thing really novel in my opinion is calling it safe versus unsafe guys. I think the rest of it I've heard a zillion times already. But still, I'm not really sure what "safe" versus "unsafe" really refers to. Someone who is unsafe to society, that is a rebellious bad boy? Someone who is unsafe to the woman who adores him, an asshole? Or someone who is unsafe in a relationship, a player? I guess I'm not really sure. I think it boils down to being woma…

The ego, it seems to me, is what others think about me--not just my identity (my name, my relationship with others, etc), but the kind of person I am. But we individualize the ego--I reflect on myself only through the lens of how I anticipate that others see me, whether they judge me harshly or not. What you wrote in the OP is right: It's the ego that produces approach anxiety. I'm attracted to the woman, but won't approach her due to fear of rejection. The whole concept of "alphaness" comes down to being in control of what you want, knowing what you want, and acting to get what you want. I just want to emphasize how important this is. There was a study that suggests that after a week of not ejaculating, testosterone levels increase 140% (or something like that). It goes down after the seventh day though. I think a lot of nofappers believe that greater testosterone in the blood stream makes you indirectly more attractive to women in subtle ways. Sadly, this is the truth. I also think it helps with your inner-game: by sitting on your hands, you're basically teaching yourself to be non-reactive, even if on the inside you are anything but. If it helps, remember that you can never take back what you say or text, but you can always take back what you didn't say. If you're not sure what the right thing to say is, say nothing. And I dream of a level of alpha where you learn to communicate in golden silence.

The only rules are the ones you make for yourself. If you're in a relationship, then you've made rules for that relationship, and it's your job to honor them. Like I said, halfway there. It's good to assume, in general, that you're right until you can be proven wrong; then, if someone shows you to be wrong, you respond "Oh, okay" as if it's no big deal. But people with a great deal of confidence don't usually work this way. You can't show them to be wrong, because their frame of reality is so strong, that you'll be sucked into agreeing with them. It is, but the point is to sublimate vengeful feelings into motivations that are more alpha like. I have my doubts about the advice, after a break-up, is to find other women; because I think then you'd be motivated by neediness. The 36th Law of Power: Disdain Things You Can Not Have: Ignoring Them Is The Best Revenge "By acknowledging a petty problem you give it existence and credibility. The more attention you pay an enemy, the stronger you make him; and a small mistake is often made worse and more visible when you try to fix it. It is sometimes best to leave things alone. Not as I see it. If you're idealistic, foolish, and romantic about the world in general, and not just women, then it probably sounds negative. Online dating is sort of like fishing (har har, that's the POF metaphor in a bucket). You're really trying to reel in among the limited number of women who are on the site in your area. So it might not be that it is the change in your technique that has cost you results, you might have just run out of women for whom that technique worked. Probably the best fishing strategy is to keep switching the bait. Maybe a cockier profile will appeal to some girls, but Mr. Nice Guy appeals to other girls. I…

Good question. I'm not the OP, but relating with him for a little bit, I have a different take on an answer: Weird is breaking the context, essentially. Weirdness is highly probable when you are trying to do indirect pick-up, because once you go from "I'm just some stranger asking for directions (or whatever)" to trying to get a number or set-up a date, you've just made it weird. This happens to both guys and girls. Everyone wants what they can't have. The grass is greener on the other side. Yeah. I think this is also why women are looking for men with some other passion in life, because it gives women the sense that she can't ever entirely "have" you. Again, it's probably wiser to be the kind of guy that women tend to complain about: "He doesn't spend enough time with me," is generally not the real reason a woman breaks up with a guy. But when I finally learned to be okay with myself my need for outside validation disappeared. When I think of Alpha as being non-reactive, I think of the sense in which an insult, or disrespect, doesn't cut you deep in the psyche. That's the fundamental difference right there. Personally I don't ever think it's right to go for someone who is already spoken for, even if their boyfriend/girlfriend is horrible. It's fair game unless they are married/engaged. Boyfriend-girlfriend relationships aren't marriages, and shouldn't be treated as if they are one. And typically, the girl isn't going to be single very long; and many won't break up without another branch to swing to. Basically, if you follow your narrow ethics, you're going to miss out.

Uh...careful with that stoicism. You'll end up just purging yourself of all interest in women, since women are a sort of attachment. Stoicism is all about ultimate freedom (many of the Stoics were themselves slaves at one point or another), and if people can control you through the women you desire, then that's not a virtuous path according to them.

My advice to you: Stop introspecting. All this bullshit that you've just written here, and I can tell it's been on your mind for a while, just stop it. The more you introspect like this, the more beta you become. You're telling yourself why women are rejecting you; you're telling yourself why women should be rejecting you. Bullshit. Don't let this become your worldview. Everytime you find yourself introspecting like this, stop yourself. Everytime you stop yourself, work instead on the following …

Check out the book How to Win Friends and Influence People. It's free online, but Wikipedia has a pretty good summary. Where that book falls short for you, find The 48 Laws of Power. It's presented a little more cynically, but covers much of the same material, but is much more extensive. A lot of seduction principles applies to people in general, not just HB's. For instance, Law 16: Use Absence to Increase Respect and Honor. "The more you are seen and heard from, the more common you appear. If y…

Could the cold shower work partly because it is said (but unproven) that it increases your testosterone? Maybe it has a similar effect as increasing testosterone. Dunno.

That's interesting. I wonder what the effects of checking the time a few times during the interaction has.

I wonder if Buddhism/meditation is really the answer though. I guess my speculation is to look in the opposite direction: maybe we just need more experiences. For instance, get into a fight. Okay, it sounds immature and fight club-ish, but you'd perhaps learn more in an actual fight than you'd ever learn seeking inner peace. Okay, it's still too immature. But you'll never know if you can handle certain situations until you have experienced them for the first time. It's like living alone for the …

Might depend on the emotion. Anger, by its very nature, is reactive. Better than not expressing your anger is not being angry in the first place. But if you're going to express your feelings, it should probably be in an outcome-independent and vulnerable way. Revealing vulnerability is actually a sign of strength. It's like how seddit highly discourages telling a girl you like her. I think this is good advice. But if you can do it in a way that is outcome-independent (you're not hanging on her a…

Does anyone remember the cultural meme, "A real man shouldn't be afraid to show his emotions"? I guess I kind of like the return to traditional masculinity. I'm not afraid of my emotions, but I'm not comfortable just pouring them out to everyone. Being Stoic and Sphinx-like is just natural to me, and it's comfortable to me. I generally think there's something wrong when people in my life can read me too well.

Your first sentence is spot on. You have to be okay with being a sexual being. That needs to be your frame. Your frame needs to be more powerful than her frame. Confidence.
