Well I have the same problem as you, except on the opposite spectrum. I'm 5'3 and believe me, you have it better. You shouldn't be leaning in when trying to show interest, but if you can't hear them I think it might be ok to lean in and tell them to speak up. Or just tell them to speak up first. Secondly, you could use this as an invitation to bring them to a quieter place. "I can't hear you, we should go over there and speak.".

I was told yesterday how short I am. She actually said, "are you really only 5'3?". I replied calmly, 'Thats what my doctor keeps telling me'. Most likely in your case, if someone is stopping to tell you that you are tall, it's an indication of interest. Work with that or just smile, say Thank you and move on if not interested. You have to own who you are.

I have a similar issue, but I've learned to get around it by just leaning in with confidence, as chiche as it sounds. I'll still catch myself slinking down to put a random 9 or 10 on a pedestal once in awhile, but when I'm on it's just me slowly leaning in to hear better. Two very different actions. They still have to say something valuable or else they know I'm not hanging around- when you are tall, leaning downwards is uncomfortable

and for the usual "you're tall," just make up obvious troll like you being limbo champ for 5 years running or something. Good transition into dance talk if you are in the mood.

Just lean in. Talk in her ear and let her do the same. I'm 6'6" and hard of hearing. The ears are pretty sensual places and it kind of turns them on.

Just a quick tip - when leaning in, try putting your thumbs in your back pocket. That way, when you lean in your arms won't be dangling in front of you like a silverback gorilla, your shoulders will be broad, and you'll take up more space, giving you a +1 intimidation factor.
