I went out with this girl for about 18 months. We broke up about six weeks ago now, and I've really been living up the single life. Tinder is fucking glorious. Thing is, I still miss her a hell of a lot, and this rebound shit isn't working for me.
I don't like to stay in contact after a breakup so I basically just cut off all communication. She's called and texted a few times to see how things are going. Today she mentions we should go for a coffee some time. This is where I need advice.
Is it too soon to try things on again? I had it in my head to wait at least a few months. If I do have that coffee, what the fuck am I supposed to do or say?
For context, the break up was more her, but we were both unhappy. To be brutally honest with myself, I think the issues stemmed from her not feeling the excitement/attraction anymore. Doing some soul searching, I definitely lost my mojo. The reason? She's aggressive and diminutive. There were far more "shit tests" happening at the 18 month mark than at the start. I guess I either stopped caring enough to keep playing that game or I just failed. I really think she's got some growing up to do.
Re-reading my own words the advice I would give myself is walk away.
