I'll try to make this as concise as possible. I'm looking for some advice. This is a throw-away, friends know my real account.

I started working at a sub shop 2 months ago. There's a girl there who I find especially attractive. We small talk when we work together and she's responds well, although she's like that with most people at work. I don't feel that she's out of my league, although her beauty intimidates me sometimes. I put her on a pedestal and I can't seem to shake it. I'm concerned with how I'm coming off and end up suppressing my true self.

About a week ago I heard her say she broke up with her boyfriend. Now I feel more suppressed when she's around. I'm being outcome dependent about it, maybe because it's hard for me to find a girl I truly feel attracted too. However, I know she's not the only girl in the world. I want to put my best foot forward, hang out with her, get to know her, and see where it goes. At the very least I want to feel free to express myself without trying to come off the way I think she'd want.

So I ask you, Sedditors, what actions would you recommend I take? What baby steps can I take to open up to her (and the world) in a friendly way?
