This was when you lost. Next time just go, the more you wait the more you get into your own head. Also, get rid of your concept of leagues, it's a rationalization that you will use to approach women you think are too good for you.

When I started (Though I don't like 'doing' cold approaches as a regular activity anymore, but just talking to women on the street in general if I find them attractive) I always told myself that I'd never see her again, and I just wanted to talk to her and get rejected.

So I went up, said what I wanted to say ("Hi, what's your name?" "Okay Anna, I'm looking for blablabla...") and if she seemed receptive (In the beginning, that was never) I asked for her contact info. Most of the time, I just asked for directions like "Hey, excuse me. I'm looking for blablabla, do you know where it is?", maybe ask her name, and say "Thanks Name" when you leave.

Again, you'll never meet these girls again. Just use it like a sandbox. Clean slate every time. I mean hell you can ask them "What's your opinion on flat earth theory?" out of the blue or even just "Hi, I'm trying to learn to talk to women, can I ask you a few questions?"

Most of the time people are busy or you'll get rejected, sometimes they'll look at you like a creep, sometimes they'll be nice and polite and eventually, when you're getting real confident, you'll have super sweet conversations and walk off with a number/facebook/even a date.

Sorry if that was long. I just find the subject so interesting since I used to be a total wimp when it came to breaking the ice, but after a lot of practice people tell me I can be pretty charming.
