Don't binge drink to oblivion. Alcoholics Anonymous describes alcoholism as an inability to control how much you drink.

Just don't drink so much. Hydrate between drinks. Drink some icewater or alternate soft drink after each hard drink. If you have water after each drink of liquor, you drink half as much alcohol in the same time. Also I think staying hydrated with plain water helps you metabolize the alcohol and reduces hangover.

It all boils down to focusing primarily on yourself.

Don't be afraid to say no when a buddy asks you to drink.

If you must drink, drink after you accomplish something like passing a test or getting an internship.

Don't use drinking as a way to escape reality, use it as a way to celebrate an accomplishment.

When people ask you to do another shot/have another drink don’t give in to peer pressure. Go at your own rate. Most people are chill with it.

When I go out my friends always try to get me to down like 5 shots in the hour before heading out. Fuckin animals lol. I’ll do 2-3 right before we bounce but I’m not trying to get plastered every fuckin weekend. Just say no if you have to

Option 1: Drink less! The most healthy option, however it is college so there is social pressure on drinking (to much).

Option 2: Care less! Remember that everyone is drunk at these parties and forgets almost everything. Often I woke up with the regret of doing stupid thing A and B last night, but the next time I met my friends they didn't even remember. I have done insanely stupid stuff when drunk, but I think it happened only twice in my life that friends came up to me the following day that I did something not acceptable.
