Dude, I'm not a model, no money, and close to 300lbs, but everyday, someone tries to fuck me.i didn't get on that level until i realized that nobody is perfect and your flaws are easily overlooked it you are likeable.

I approach everyone the same, whether I'm interested or not. You've already got that part down when you said you can easily engage people in a friendly manner. As far as being interested throw some flirty stuff lightly into that first conversation and see how it plays. If she plays keep on, if she don't move on.

Be prepared to lose, but after a while you'll rack up the wins.

You can use your insecurities as a form of self-deprecating humor when around women. This also helps to neutralize those insecurities. Women are often insecure as fuck, so they'll be able to identify with you when you talk about your own insecurities. It's also a great way to get women to open up in general.

One of my openers when I was in college: "I'd totally ask you out on a date if I was half a foot taller."

You know what some common responses were?...

"Why not ask me out now?" "Why do you have to be half a foot taller? You can ask me out." ETC.

Insecurities are mostly in your head. I got rid of my insecurities by placing them front & center and even using them as pick up lines. It may sound counter-intuitive but it worked for me.
