A little background, I consider myself a bit reserved and take time to open up to people. When I switched to a new section this semester, I noticed a girl in my class who caught my attention. She's part of a close-knit group of friends, and initially, I didn't know much about her, nor did she know much about me.

She's attractive, and I found myself liking her after a few interactions. During class, I often caught her glancing at me, and we've made eye contact several times, despite sitting apart (she's usually with her friends).

When we talk, she seems genuinely enthusiastic, which makes me want to pursue something more than friendship with her.

However, there's a complicating factor: she has a guy friend from another section who she was very close with last semester. They seem to have a deep connection, and he's noticeably more outgoing when he's with her. I'm unsure about their relationship status, which makes me hesitant to make a move.

I know she's currently single, but I don't know how close she is to this guy friend. Part of me wants to get closer to her, hoping she might be interested too, but another part of me worries that I'd be overstepping if she's already romantically involved with him.

I'm torn between trying to pursue her and risking awkwardness or letting things remain as they are and potentially missing out on something meaningful with her. Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.
