cool video on approaching groups

This was decent advice for beginners, but the guy had some glaring issues:

He was constantly seeking approval from the groups. You don't need to ask permission to join someone. As long as you're being cool and friendly, you can integrate yourself right into the group without saying a single thing about it. Usually you can just sit down by them while you're in the middle of talking.
He was pretty good bantering with that group of girls, and should've just sat down with them (he probably purposely didn't since he was just demonstrating a "strategy," but still).
With most of the groups, he kept qualifying himself constantly. He gave like 5 different reasons as to why they should let him join them. You hardly ever need to do that unless you're getting really bad vibes from the group.

If he had instead just felt entitled to join each of the groups, he could've just done it and been fine. He also talked an awful lot, and he didn't really need to do that either. Picture the difference between how he approached it, and how the star quarterback of the football team would've approached. The quarterback would've inherently felt entitled, would've walked up nonchalantly, wouldn't give a bunch of excuses for why he felt like approaching, and he would've just sat down with each of the groups and been cool about it.

Edit: Not to take away from the video though. It was good- I just do things a bit differently.
