I'm from Norway (Sweden's neighbor) and we have a very similar dating culture. I have also lived and dated in the US so I can explain some of the smaller differences:

Dating in Sweden / Norway is hook-up-first. Almost all relationships start out with casual sex / friends with benefits. You will typically get casual sex through partying on Saturday night, or through dating apps. That doesn't mean you can just ask outright about casual sex or FWB. You have to still be subtle and classy with it. And communicate a bit indirectly. Just like in other cultures.
Women are much more equal to men in Sweden / Norway. This means you should not necessarily hold a door open for a woman, and you should not be surprised if she offers to pay the bill, or split the bill. Anything you say that will sound misogynistic will get you rejected quick.
Men in Sweden / Norway are on average wayyyy better looking than the United States. They are taller, healthier, fitter, and put much more effort into their skin, hair, clothing and overal style to appeal to women. This means competition for women here is harder than in the US. Since in the US just being fit will give you a big advantage. But in Scandinavia so many guys are fit - it's just considered normal.
Women in Sweden / Norway are on average much taller than women in the US. The same goes for men. This means that being a short guy will make dating much more challenging in Sweden / Norway compared to the US. I'm 5'10 and that is considered on the shorter side here in Norway / Sweden. So it has made dating more difficult. But my height was never an issue in the US as there I was above / about average and taller than most women.
Sweden / Norway has a stereotype about Americans as being dumb, right-wing extremist, and unhealthy. So to do better as an American you have to come across as politically left, smart, and healthy.
It's somewhat more common in Sweden and Norway to ask people to "get a coffee" or do something without asking someone directly on a date. Using the word "date" is becoming more normal over time though, so it's okay to use it. Dating communication is just sometimes a bit more indirect here.
It's frowned upon to talk to strangers in Norway / Sweden unless it's a party or social event. Approaching women during the day can work, but you have to quickly show them that you have a legit reason / excuse to talk to them or they will think you're a psycho.

That said, all these differences are minor adjustments. Game is game, like the other commenter said. The same basic concepts work everywhere.

I'm tall 191 (M) but struggled eith the cultural aspects as well. Having not been so "open" a 1st date hookup seems more than off for a serious relationship. So in other aspects not because of social factors but surprisingly difficult to find anyone who matches with actual values.

Anyone else find the same ? Any place to find legitimate people outside of social groups?

There are many people who claim that daygame works in Scandinavia. People also say that most women won't remember you the next day when you text / call them. Part of it may be because Kino does not work. I want to hear from people who have been successful in converting numbers (obtained during daygame) to a date. How did you do it?
