The whole thing is not worth your pain, it will be old news sooner than you think. Do you really think such an incident can be interesting for a long time? You will see how short the attention span of people is.
Something like that happens very seldom, so you don't have to worry it will happen again. In a way you already experienced the worst case scenario of online dating. What of the common stuff, that happens online can still shock you know? Nothing. In a way it liberated you.
Humiliation can also have a positive aspect: It destroys your ego - the thing, that stops you from doing the stuff you want.
