I have had stuff like this happen, and I never knew what to do. One time on my birthday this girl told me "I could have anything I wanted for my birthday" in a very seductive tone. Her friend (who was also kinda my friend too, but no longer) was listening in and chimes in with "Except for sex...", in a very angry, almost scolding tone towards us.

Totally ruined the moment and I for some reason did not come up with a comeback. Like you, I was drunk/in shock and taken aback. Looking back I wish I has said something like "I'll decide what I want for myself, thanks".

A few nights ago I was out with my girlfriend, and her friends joined. We were all going to the same arboretum the next day, by coincidence, so we all made plans to meet up there. One of her friends jokes at me "Haha I love being a cockblock". I retorted, "Well, I'd like to see you try". And raised my drink towards her, as if offering a challenge.

They all laughed and one of them commented "he's too attracted to her!".

My girlfriend was impressed with my retort and needless to say, I was not cockblocked.

So I think the best move is to fire a shot back at the cockblocking friend. Show that you don't give a fuck about what they think, and that some friend can't get in the way of your desire. Doesn't have to be too aggressive, but perhaps next time you could say something like "I've got some food at my place, I can take care of her." or something like that.

Idk, like I get bing polite and all. But yeah, seemed like it was going well. I’d would have at least gone for a number. Hard to know without being there and feeling out the vibe. I mean playing it cool has its own merits too
