In the Goodfellas movie when they were introducing Pauline Cicero the narrator said "Pauline moved kind of slow, but then again, he didn't have anyone he need to move for".
See when you have nothing left to prove, when you have no one you need to impress, no one you need to hurry up for, that kind of means you are the boss, you are the top dog without even trying. That's how I carry myself and every women notice it.

It’s a mindset thing. Stop believing you have to be what’s called a dancing monkey for women. Start approaching interactions with women from the perspective that SHE needs to try to impress you.
This often why you often let women do most of the speaking and just ask them questions with the odd flirtatious comment here and there. He who asks the questions heads the interaction.
You can read more about this in How to Be a 3% Man by Corey Wayne.

The book covers this in detail with step by steps that I started applying.
But i’ll say this. Your options increase when you have the fundamentals in place.
Are you lean muscular below 20% bodyfat? How’s your dress sense compared to guys you see who have options? Are you financially stable? Do you frequent places that the kind of women you want go & know other women that you can befriend that can introduce you to more women?
These are the fundamentals that increase your options.
Fitness, Fashion, Finance & Network.

Well you’ve got the Fitness down, sort out your Fashion. As for Finance (as long as you have money coming in don’t worry about that too much until your last year of college). And Network, you got that covered too.
So what you really need is that book. Because you need game to pair with your looks to help you when you go out.
The first few chapters will address how to talk to women, the mindset you need & how to tell if she’s interested or not.
Practicing what you read will yield you great results.

Well, it's the same thing. You can't fake it. What do you have to prove?

Impenetrable ?? That kind of an attitude is only possible when you are less focused on the outcome and more focused being in the moment and having fun like a kid who doesn't give a shit about the past frustrations and is happy with not knowing what the future holds.
Even If you are good looking, don't rely on your looks. Just go out and experiment building connections with people. Don't expect to say a perfect line or impress people.

Realize that nobody gives a flying fuck about anything you do that doesn't directly harm them or their loved ones. Even really cringy or offensive shit can be easily overridden by sufficient levels of awesomeness.
Realize that people are typically very forgiving of suboptimal responses, you don't need to be a social superman to have good conversations.
Realize that there are thousands of people you can talk to, and even if you're supremely socially awkward, you have the capacity to learn how to have great conversations with the vast majority and pull at least some.
Realize that usually, people don't want to be assholes, and if someone is being an asshole to you it often has a lot more to do with them than you.
Realize that, even if all of the above wasn't true, you still have the ability to design your own idea of a good life, which means you still have the ability to filter out rude, bitchy people who aren't down with your vibe.

You're going about this in a less than ideal way. You want "impenetrable confidence" you never want to not worry about what to say. You never want to worry about what she thinks about you. You never want to feel nervous.
But this is completely unrealistic. Those are completely human emotions we all feel from time to time. Especially in a dating setting or approaching a girl. You should learn to accept, own, and acknowledge your feelings instead of trying to get rid of them. That's how you can have those feelings but not let them influence your behavior too much. Confidence starts when you accept feeling insecure, unsure, nervous, all those things. And you are comfortable having those feelings without shaming yourself or freaking out about it.
The concept is that of meta-feelings. Your feelings about your feelings is more important than the primary feelings.
If you feel nervous and you feel like it's okay to be nervous in this setting. That's when you're on a good path. The wrong path is when you feel nervous and then you think you should not feel nervous. That's when you shame yourself. That's when the confidence drops. Makes sense?
Don't aim for impenetrable confidence. Aim for reasonable confidence where you're kind to yourself and vulnerable. That's when you will really be able to connect with someone human to human instead of playing all these games of "what to say".

Why do you feel like you have to be at 100% all the time? What a strange thing to say. And you really need to stop comparing yourself to others so much if you want to be more confident. Comparing yourself to others is a highway to feeling less about yourself. There's always someone doing better than you in whatever field or area we're talking

No-one is ever at 100%. Whatever that means. You need to be kinder to yourself. Tell yourself you're good enough even when you give 10%

One way to have consistent confidence is to realize there’s no such thing as impenetrable confidence. Everyone has insecurities, feels down about themselves from time to time. Anyone who claims otherwise is dishonest and truly insecure.
Having self acceptance and realizing that everyone else has their issues is a first step. Giving yourself room to make mistakes and not expect perfection is a good first step, as long as that doesn’t turn into complacency
