In a college scenario, approach in a way that you can't fail. Play it safer when other people are present. This means going more indirect so women don't feel like there is anything to "reject". For example, just introducing yourself to the people sitting around you in a lecture. Both the men and the women. There's no way to fail because if women act negatively towards you in that instance, they are the ones who look dumb and rude. But just by doing that, they know who you are..you are now on their radar. And if you, say, cross paths with one of these women in the hallway at some later point, you can strike up a conversation more easily. Baby steps. You have to spread these tiny seeds of positive interactions, eye contact, greetings etc. and watch which of them grow. Imagine you're a politian greeting everyone and trying to make sure everyone is heard, having a good time, and feel welcome. Spread these good social vibes to everyone. Men and women, and then over time monitor for indicators of interest from the women you are considering. Then when you notice indicators of interest you capitalize and collect your harvest with extremely low risk. By simply asking them out on a date. Another way is to host social events, become the leader of a new club at campus, and so forth. The most important thing is building your own social status at campus. So do what you can to improve it and be a guy that everyone sees and knows. Preferably in a positive sense. Don't sit in the back. Sit in the middle of the pack or towards the front, so more eyes are on you. Ask the teacher a question. Be seen..show up. Show people your personality. Ensure people know who you are. Don't be hiding in the back, nobody knows who you are and then you try try to sneak up on one lady in the break. Bad move.

Listen knowone is paying attention to you your not that important. Being able to approach someone with other people around shows a sense of confidence, courage and social comfort. Once you start talking to the girl you’ll notice nobody is even paying attention to you and if they are so what. Your doing some most men including yourself are afraid to do. The more you challenge yourself the better you become at social interaction. Eventually it will feel like riding a bike.
