It's a nice book, it's a story and that's what I like about books. I don't care is it's written by a journalist and he talks about some nerds that became fake chads.

The Game was written by Neil Strauss. He is a definitive pop culture writer of this age.

Yeah I agree. I would still read it again if I’ve never read before, my philosophy on most books is ingest the meat and spit out the bones. Lots of bones within The Game but it was an interesting read. Actually… I’m going to retract that I can see so many guys mindsets getting so fucked if they can’t decipher good and bad content.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but we benefit from the passage of time and hindsight. A lot of us who find these discussions interesting had fathers incapable of teaching them (mom running the house, dad working and trying to survive her) or no fathers at all. At the time it was released I'm sure it seemed groundbreaking. Now it won't tell us much beyond what the average lurker here knows. We all suffer when we're evaluated by future peers and standards. The fact we talk about it at all post-Mystery on VH1, post-RSD, post-rationale male, post-me too ironically lends to how significant it was at the time, but it's a little stale now. It reads like hyperbolic fanfic but that's mostly because we have more nuanced stuff now.

I've heard a lot about it but never read it. All I needed to know was that the author hung out with Mystery who is a real fraud and a loser. I e read Strauss' musings when he was hanging out wjth mystery and all his ideas about women are totally wrong.
