Hate to brake it to you but.. i'ts like you said, this date is one you will have once in a decade. Why? Because most things in life will end up being mediocre. This is just how it is, even scientifically. You have no control over the dates you will have with her. You will have no control over the way she feels about you after you meet up with her again. Anything external is not in your control. Therefore having fantasies will do you no favor. You put the bar so high that if something negative happens, you will suffer eventually. Try to focus on the things you can control. Chances are that if you have time to fantasize about her, you probably have also time to do something productive. Stay cool headed and the rest will be taken care of automatically.

Focus on cultivating a feeling of gratitude for the amazing date & then do what you need to do to set yourself up for more such dates in the future.

You can be pretty much head over heels for somebody and still focus on your work and life - it just takes practice. You’ve probably not had a lot of dates like this, so the bar is set a bit higher than it would be normally. It’ll take some time to adjust.

Honest advice? Enjoy that feeling. Why? Because you can go years without ever feeling that for a girl again. You're suffering because of a great experience and how much you like her, but its not in vain, you will see her again.
