Very common. It's not necessarily good nor is it necessarily bad. You're going to screw up a lot in your first relationships regardless of how old you are.

If you're instead asking about getting "lots of girls", the answer is pretty different. Very very few 17 year olds are picking up girls rather than having their first relationships. Those who do are the first members of their cohort to internalize the big lessons in pickup (read the sidebar). Will pickup be more fun when you're older, have more freedom and money? Yep. Is that a reason not to improve your Inner Game? Hell no.

For example, after reading your history, I can see you take things WAY too seriously for girls to become comfortable with you. Your first project is to learn to chill out so you can appear confident.
