Why is this a shit test? Maybe some girls are genuinely not attracted to short guys. Just like how some of you are only attracted to skinny girls.

In my experiences it is generally a shit test, because the scenario I'm referring to is one where I've been talking to them for awhile; they're laughing, smiling, we're having a good time, and then it comes out. It's of a curious nature. It's a test to see how I can keep the atmosphere going that I've created. That's my interpretation anyways. And trust me, I know there are "girls out there who just aren't attracted to short guys". To make a point, let's reverse the roles for a second. If you met a girl who was fantastic in all aspects, but had a chest that was too flat for your liking, would you write her off? From what most men would say is, of course not. This is the same thing with being a short guy; the mentality is exactly the same, it's just that girls test how manly we are - they ask about our insecurities to see how we deal with it. Is that not what a shit test is?

That's a reasonable interpretation. Although I'm actually a girl and I can't say I've ever consciously tested a guy's "manliness". The only thing I will say is that from my perspective it seems possible that she's been talking to you for a while because she likes the attention, but isn't actually attracted to you which is why she's insulting your height.

I was going to guess you were a girl, but I didn't want to ruin a learning opportunity for a fellow brethren. I think you have the wrong idea of a shit test. Firstly, a shit test is just a theory - it is a framework that helps us guys get to the solution we want. Realistically, I highly doubt that a girl will sit back and think "I'll ask him why he's bald - THAT will prove if he's a man or not."
I'll attempt to explain it from a girl's perspective. I think these scenarios happen because girls will just get so comfortable that they don't think about what could be damaging to a guy's ego. And frankly, I don't think any girl wants to have to "tip toe" around what to say to a certain man because it may "hurt his feelings". I think in a girl's mind, she's either comfortable around a guy, or she isn't. I'd say most of the time I'm asked/told this, it's not to "insult my height". Girls say this to me with a smile on their face, and it's like they expect me to be happy about it. And that's the key - if I am happy about it (or at least appear to be), the whole conversation will be forgotten by her! She won't even know that she said it. That's the goal - to keep it positive, and to keep her having a good time. It doesn't matter if she's actually "shit testing" me. Shit test or not, having a good response to this hurdle will only lighten the mood, and keep the people around me enjoying themselves. The only thing that will happen is that I'll look more charismatic, and that's never bad.

Interesting, I legitimately thought that you guys believed that women presented these "tests" to men as a bitchy way of testing to see what his boundaries/limits are (i.e. how much shit he will take from her). This explanation sounds less woman-hatey.

Well, like I said earlier, a "shit test" is just a theory. The term was coined in a book called "The Game" by Neil Strauss (I forget if the author himself coined this, or a guy in the book said it. Anyway, the book is worth a read if you're into this stuff). Some guys may actually think that a girl is literally testing them, but ultimately we aren't here to "hate" women; we're here to understand them, communicate with them, and ultimately seduce them! And realistically, it shouldn't matter how we think of it, as long as it helps us communicate, keep you in the moment, and keep on having a great time! What else matters if that's happening?
Anyway, I feel like we've gone a bit off track the original purpose of this thread. Now that you know the psyche inside and out of the "shit test", do you have any clever responses for when a girl says "haha you're short", or "how tall ARE you?" or anything similar?
