You'll find the "rules of the game" in psychology textbooks.
Human psychology is the only thing that governs this game. As long as you know how to influence someone's psychology to get what you want from them and make that a win-win situation, you're doing well.
No one can accurately speak for the entirety of the seduction community because everyone who teaches this stuff has different opinions and different approaches to things.
You made reference to the Rules of the Game narrative so I'm assuming you've read that book and probably The Game by Neil Strauss as well.
If you have, you'd clearly see how differently each of the different characters in the book approached game.
There were some who did hypnosis, there were some who did magic, there were some who scripted everything, there were some who scripted nothing, there were some who were more social, there were some who were more sexual, etc.
Even if nowadays approaches that are more out there like hypnosis, magic, and scripted lines aren't very common anymore, the way people approach dating and seduction still varies widely.
Like the saying goes, "there's many ways to skin a cat." There's no one thing. The Game isn't one thing.
Everyone's objective might be the same or at least similar but the way people go about achieving that objective varies greatly.
My advice to you is that right now when you're still starting off, you can look for different takes from different people and look at as many "seduction influencers" or coaches as you want but eventually you're gonna have to choose who's advice you really connect with and wanna spend a meaningful amount of time testing out and trying while ignoring everyone else's advice.
After spending like 3 months taking action on one particular person's or school of thought's advice you can choose to continue down that line or find someone else to learn from.
The game is just like fitness. If you hop from workout program to workout program every month you're not gonna get anywhere. You need to give each approach that you wanna try a meaningful amount of time to determine whether its good for you or not.
So choose carefully but you are gonna have to choose.
Here's a post that'll give you an idea of what my approach is like.

Thanks for the advice..with regards to style I would have to do a little more research, but I did like many aspects of RSD guys. Yes, I've read the book and I'm not afraid of rejection, so I'm really looking for people to go out with. I guess having others there to view gives us ideas and makes us feel a little less creepy when standing around a bar haha. appreciate the link bro.

Whats up Man,
Thought I would give a little advice coming from a guy who's been in this for about four years now.
I strongly agree with hunterpua, there is not one approach to this. There are several different ways you can go about it, bringing your own personality to the table. Trying to act incongruent to who you are is a sure way for a girl to lose interest very quickly and shrug you off as a try hard loser.
Now, the first thing I would say is this, there is a huge difference between those who study game THEORY and game PRACTICE. The men who sit behind a computer and watch YouTube videos on how to approach women are a dime a dozen. The amount of men who actually put in the work, get out there, take rejections on the chin, and learn are a rare breed. Anyone can sit with their buddies and talk about women for hours on end but few are willing to put in the time it takes to truly understand female nature. I remember someone once told me that there are two ways of getting good at poker, learning the game, and playing hands. Our generation is full of men who only want to learn, not practice.
Ok, moving on. In my opinion, game is not something that someone just picks up over night. I would say It takes around 3-7 years to really get a good grasp of what is going on depending on how much time you are willing to put in. The amount of time you put in will directly correlate to how fast you learn. If you are not aware of the concept of 10,000 hours it is this...they say it takes 10,000 hours to master something. The problem is, men usually spend 98% of their life completely asexual except for when they go out on the weekends with their buddies. This is the problem for modern men when it comes too dating.
I encourage you to read whatever material you have to, but please for the love of god do not get stuck in the theory. It takes hours in the field.
Finally I will leave you with this. Being a seducer is not something you pick up whenever you want and set it aside for when you are single it again. IT IS WHO YOU ARE.
Good luck my friend!
Man, Thanks for that. I do get that people just read the theory, and so id love to go out into the field with a few people. I actual learn from visual and emursive experiences much more than anything else .everyone does. yup 10000 hours to master anything.
