Isnt joking and flirting essentially the same thing? Its just the way its prevaled and said. Basically my friends, gf, and I were car pooling. And i noticed that one of my friend, and my girlfriend would go back and forth with joking. Anything my friend says, my girl would laugh. And anything he says jokingly, my girl would be reactive to. One of my friends gf also pointed this out and its freaking me out because the past week. It seems as if anything i'm pointing out, a girl also noticed. Hence i say girl because usually they have more social intelligence and are able to sense tiny shit like that.
