Not sure about everyone's background but I'm a late bloomer, 1st kiss in early-mid 20's, no real relationships yet and now in my mid 30's. This feels common if not the norm in my tech circle. Just mentioning because I see that some in the pickup community were already successful and are aiming at being uber-casanovas.

However, when I compare to the population at large, I realize that my circle is the outlier. Vast majority ~75-80% have been married at least once by 40. Median age of 1st marriage for men is ~31.

Sometimes my YT feed has those call-in shows of relationship topics and a very normal sounding guy/girl would have questions such as they slipped up and banged their gf's stepmom, friend, boss, etc, basically the inspiration for pr0n plots. It all just organically happened. Infidelity, polyamory, ENM stats all seem pretty mainstream. News would often have stories of teachers getting in trouble for statutory rape; and if I ever click on such a story, the next few weeks would be bombarded with more such (current) stories.

In all these cases, the people involved likely never delved into pickup, systematically learning and redesigning their lives.

So I'm curious how folks like us diverged from this norm. In my case, choice of career is 1 factor as it's mostly male and often OT-heavy. Curious about other factors.
