A guy I know on live chat bragged (lied) about having an IQ of 182 and being a "introverted intellectual" . You could tell he was faking it cause of the number of times he brought up the point and how he was pandering to a textbook archetype of the "misunderstood genius". He used pseudointellectual language to make basic points sound smart

I.e.: "Looks don't matter" --------> "I do not care for what everyone else cares which is just the physical. I desire an individual for his/her personality"

I mean it sounded so fking cringe to me I couldn't see how anyone else didn't notice. The girl on the live chat was like "awwwww your really smart etc. Add me on snapchat". Respect to the guy though. First time I've seen pseudointellectualism used like that.

But typically does it work though? I'd always thought people would get annoyed just like I got annoyed. But apparently not. It looks like you can speak absolute bullcrap and if you sound somewhat confident about it, it won't make a difference.
