Why not do both at the same time? Thinking of 'preparing' yourself before talking to girls will only hold you back. It'll get better only with practice, trial and error. Most people that have problems are too afraid of the 'error' part to succeed, but it's critical.

Also, it's cliche advice, but if you want to be more interesting you have to be interested. This has the double affect of not only showing that you're actually interested in what she has to say, but you learn a lot of things just from listening to people that become relevant in other social situations, building on itself.

Yes you could, it would give you plenty of things to talk about if she asks you about yourself. A good tip when talking to people is get them to talk about themselves. People can go on and on about themselves.

Absolutely! You could argue that the most important part of this subreddit its to become the best you possible. Dont completely ignore talking to women while you are improving yourself however because it can hurt you in the long run like myself
