Im a firm believer of progressive desensitation when it comes to getting over any type of anxiety. I believe just approaching and approaching and approaching is good but to an extent. Sometimes the nerves are too much and you cant do it nor conduct even one approach. So for those who are out there that are like that I have an exercise for you.
The exercise is very simple. Wear business casual( bonus points if you throw on a tie). Next go to a mall or any gathering where there would be a large gathering of people to include beautiful women.
Approach every girl that you find attractive, preferably the ones where you feel unworthy of having, and when you approach them I want you to say one thing.
Im currently conducting research for a school project on psychology and I was wondering if whether or not a man being nervous meeting and speaking to you for the first time would ruin his chances of getting a number and a date with you?
Asking this disarms immediately because they believe youre just doing research. Its only one question.
This helps you approach with no pressure because all you really care about is a yes or no answer. This progressively desensitizes the anxiety of approaching. And finally it solidifies in your head that you really have nothing to worry about because now you have empirical evidence to prove.
WHEN DOING THIS EXERCISE CARRY A CLIPBOARD WITH TWO COLUMNS, ONE SAYING YES THE OTHER SAYING NO. TALLY THE RESPONSES. When you finish, write your field report in the comment section that way us fellow sedditors can get some good intel.
