Context: 21 year old male. Work at Trader Joe's. Fairly new at this whole PUA thing, have been devouring a lot of the information here and have made some progress at keeping conversations going. A lot of my practice is at work when I'm talking to customers. My goal is trying to get comfortable enough talking to literally everyone. So every time I'm at the register I'll try to strike up a conversation, even a small one.

Two days ago while I was at the register, I tell my bud who's at the register behind me that I was gonna make a quick run to the restroom. On the way there, I see a gorgeous girl walk into the store with a friend. Blue eyed-dark brown hair. As I walk past her, I glance in her direction searching for the eye contact....bam got it. Restroom. Come back out and on the way back to the registers, I walk past her again, and this time I hold eye contact until she looks away. Boom. Done. A little while later, I see the two girls walk towards the registers, mine is empty so I call them over so I can help. I start making some small talk asking them whats up how was their week blah blah. For some reason I directed most of my conversation at the friend but I would glance in the direction of the blue eyed girl, always making very very strong eye contact. I wanted to ask for her number SO BAD but I was at work, and am fairly new there so I definitely didn't want to rock the boat. I finish bagging their stuff and let them go on their way...but before she left: strong eye contact and big smile. And I got a smile out of her.

Since I started reading seddit, this is the first time that this has happened to me, as far as the whole eye contact thing. I could definitely feel a connection between me and her during those brief moments. It was cool. I was bummed I wasn't able to get her number, as it would have been inappropriate (maybe should've sneaked her my number, even if it's not as forward as asking for hers) but I felt so confident in that moment that I knew I would have gotten it if I asked for it. Small victory in my eyes. No pun intended.
