Fear of Success

I have this, not just with pickup but many other things. Tony Robbins talks about it in Awakening the Giant Within. I forget what he says but I think ties in with the theory that everything we do we do for 2 reasons: avoiding pain and gaining pleasure. If you become self conscious when something is working and find yourself sabotaging yourself so you don't succeed, it's because your subconscious associates more pain coming from you succeeding than pleasure from you succeeding.

For example if you succeed maybe she will see your naked body and that's something you are very self conscious about, maybe she will come to know you better and your lack of a social life which is very different from the personality/lifestyle you showed her in the initial approach and you are afraid to let her down and cause embarrassment to yourself. Conversely it may be because secretly you don't think you deserve success so every time you get close you ruin it for yourself.

Basically insecurities are what causes this. I'll let you know when I find a solution.

What throws me off is everyone else telling me to go for it or something. For some reason it just makes me become worried about what they all think and makes me lose my outcome independence and just throws me off my game. I think thats may be what's happening to you is that you realize it's working and then you lose your game a little because of that.

Thank god someone pointed that out! I fucked up with 4 HB7-9's solely for this reason. I guess the more you do it and realize you're actually an awesome guy will be the moment you'll start going for it.

Thus disqualifying yourself.
