1. If you approach and a girl and she is rude to you, its probably because she's a miserable person, so you dodged a bullet anyway. I've approached some (average looking, at best) girls and they've been really rude to me. For instance, last night I was talking to this one girl at a party and she was patronizing me and she gave me a dirty look despite the fact that I was trying to be nice to her (so I just walked off). I later found out that she had no job, dropped out of school, and she was just a miserable person that was used to having guys fucking her and dumping her. Finding that out made me feel a little better and understand why she acted the way she did, so I felt better. On the other hand, I work with this one girl who looks like a burberry model. Since the first day I started working there she's been really nice to me and everyone around us - she really goes out of her way to help people. I asked her out and she told me she wasn't interested in me like that, but she's still always been nice to me despite the fact that I have treated her pretty shitty sometimes. The point that I'm trying to get across is that girls, for the most part, aren't going to be rude to you when you approach them, in fact they usually like it, however, if they do say something rude or ignore you it was probably because she is a miserable person, so no big loss anyway, or you said something weird or were weird.

2. Don't take everything here to seriously - everyone is different so what worked for me that one time at a party might not work for you. I was the type of guy that wouldn't text girls at all, and if I had to I would follow the 2/3 ratio and just do other stupid shit like that. In all honesty though, I've notice that it doesn't really matter what you say to a girl (as long as it's not weird or super needy, of course) or how often you text her. It's only bad if either or both of these condition apply. 1. you're needy and you're pretty much only hanging around her to feel less shitty. 2. She isn't as interested/responsive as you.

3. You won't become successful with women unless you actually approach. I had to get rejected about 10 time before I knew how to act and not feel nervous anymore talking to girls that I liked. If I like a girl, I usually tease her a bit, I kino her and see how she responds, and then I ask her out. If she says yes, I get her number and I tell her I'll call her during the week to set something up. Then, I follow up with plans. And follow up after the date with: "It was nice talking to you tonight!"If she says no, I say, "well, it looks like you're not interest. Good luck with everything!" (I learned this one from a post here titled: "How I ask girls out") This sometimes gets the girl to change her mind, but if she doesn't change her mind, I can still live with her decision and it makes me feel better because I feel that I got closure. Also, if I got rejected, I usually act nice with the girl and just pretend like nothing happen, but I don't escalate or anything.

4. This doesn't get stressed on Seddit, but compliments are actually really important, from my experience. (Can people give me feedback on what they do?) I wrote a letter to a girl I was dating that said something the long the lines of: from what I've gotten to know her, she was very pretty and had an interesting hipster personality... I feel that everyone here would give me so much shit if I said I was going to do that, but from my experience, it worked really well, and she really enjoyed it - I literally saw her face glow as she read it. This other time, I was at a mall and I girl approached me and said I'm a lesbian, but when I see guys like you, I'm just like damn!" she compliment my hair and the way that I dress. Again over complimenting, but it actually got me interested in her.

5. The best opener is: "Hey what's up? I'm X." From my experience, a lot of people are non-responsive when you do this as a cold-approach, but if you get their numbers, they usually remember you and are responsive after. If you do this at a party or bar, this also works really well, and most people respond warmly and start talking about something their passionate about really quick, so it makes an interesting conversation.
