Hi! I've lurked this sub for quite a long time but I've never really done much in terms of the postings. So here is a FR for you gents, because I was pretty excited today!

This was my first approach in a long time, since I had a girlfriend for some time and after breaking up, I've been working on myself for a while. I have been going to the gym for about 7 months, and that has really helped a lot with confidence. I also try to keep well groomed, and decently dressed. I read models which I would recommend to anyone trying to get started like I am.

Today I was Christmas shopping at Target, and while walking down the main aisle, a 9/10 walked sort of across my path up ahead, and I decided what the hell, you need to start somewhere. One of the main things I think that helped me was that I decided I was going to approach within the 3 seconds and started straight toward her. I walked up behind her at the clothing rack (which I remember now is a mistake, oops) and say "Excuse me" and let her turn toward me. "I wanted to tell you that I thought you were really cute." She sounded definitely surprised/shocked and thanked me. I told her my name, shook her hand, and asked if she wanted to get coffee sometime. I made sure to maintain eye contact as much as possible and smile. She had really nice green eyes! Anyway she then said she had a boyfriend, which I said "Ah, ok! Have a nice day!" (I guess here I could have said something witty just because, but my brain was going nuts) And she said "I really appreciate it though!" She touched me on the elbow as she said this. It almost seemed like she regretted not being able to say yes. She was beaming. I saw her later for a few moments and we both smiled at each other and made eye contact the whole passing. It was an incredible feeling. I really believe I made her day by doing this!

I was very happy with the outcome, and it was honestly a girl who I thought was gorgeous. Now that I did it, I want to do it some more. :) Thanks for all the great content Seddit.
