This is a field report mostly written for future personal use, but might as well post it.

A couple of weeks ago I asked for help on how to act in a club on this reddit and described how my friend completly outgamed me, despite me having studied pick-up for a long ass time and him not at all. I realized by now that my friend is just one of those types I find kinda annoying because he's a complete natural at social dynamics and doesnt have to analyze all kinds of situations to act properly like I do. So I made the decision to observe him and try to learn from him and thats what this field report is about.

Tonight there was a party at my university and me aswell as the friend - lets call him John - went to it. Me and John met some of our other freinds on the way there and as soon as we arrived we got a beer, fluffed a little and then went to the dancefloor as soon as the band started playing. This is when I think it got really interesting.

I was simply just there to have fun, observe my friend's game and maybe cold approach 1 or 2 girls on the floor - that was my goals for the night. John spent most of the night hanging with one of his friends that recently came out of a long relationship - but he still managed to open several sets and get IOI's from at least 5 girls.

It started in our circle of friends on the floor, consisting of 5 guys and 2 girls. John got eye contact with the 2 girls in the circle and swung them around a bit. No suprise here, I've come to realize this is tge norm and what one should do. But then he began an interesting strategy. Since the circle consisted mostly of guys, all trying to somehow someway show that theyre the most interesting male, John did something I didnt expect. He got eyecontact with a guy instead, did some kind of "meme-ish" dance move with the guy and then made him open a set of girls nearby, that John would then dance with and swing around. This move instantly made him the most "alpha-male" in the group because it was obvious to the females that he was in charge and every male envied the skill he had in opening sets and didnt realize they were being slightly manipulated. I personally think this was fucking genius. It took him about 5 mins until he had established 100% "alpha-male status" in a dance-circle of friends and he then moved on to other friend-circles nearby.

Towards the end of the night John opened at 3-set of girls with me dancing nearby. As I opened the set the closest girl got a really weird look on her face like "what are you doing?" - could be because I saw her dancing with a friend of a friend that night but mostly likely I just did it wrong. It didnt matter much tho because after just a split second John grabbed the second girl and swung her around in what I realized was an almost identical routine to what he had been doing all night with every single girl. It took him about 10 seconds to get 3 IOI's from her and then proceeded to drop her off at her friends again because (and he admitted this) he didnt have the balls and didnt really want to put in the effort to pursue any of these girls. Right after he had dropped her off she looked like she had met the man of her dreams - I believe this is what some PUA's call the puppy look" and as I kept checking the next 40 minutes it was quite obvious that she couldnt take her eyes off him.

EDIT: Its important to note here that I consciously didnt really do anything that night, but just observed. I experienced extreme frustration the last time I went clubbing with this guy due to his superior game and decided the best way to tackle this was to admit that I'm worse and just try to learn.

EDIT: Might add more later
