I would have texted her an inside joke the same night after the date. And then wouldn't text her again until I'm ready to plan out the next date. If it's already planned out, then maybe text her the day before or the day of the date to confirm. Whatever you do, don't be overly-available & clingy.

I personally pay for and plan the first date, so I am looking for a Thank You text afterwards to gauge if she is worth putting the effort into for a second date. If the first date goes well, and she sends the thank you text, I will usually do light texting until the next date. I wouldn't call at the stage you are at.
