Hey Seddit!

Had my first date last night with a girl I met online. She was pretty cool. Career oriented, mature (2 years older than me), cute, nice, whatever... Let's call it HB7 and I'm interested.

I met her at a mall downtown (We took the subway separately since she lives in the west and I am in the east) where we went for dinner after. I paid like a fool, $50 total, but I only feel it's right (I know a lot of you will give me shit for this). Not only because she is a university student and in debt, but also because I don't really know how to explain I want to split the bill (any tips for future first dates?).

The date went well, we talked, we stared at each other, we ate. Good times were had and we had one drink each (A beer for myself and a fancy fruit drink for the lady).

So she mentioned she has an online test she wanted to take care of tonight before the date. She asks me what I am doing tonight after the dinner and I tell her honestly I have nothing lined up and it's "just me". I ask her the same thing (even though I remember the test) and she restates she has the test due Monday but wants to do it tonight. I lightly tried to convince her to move it to Sunday but she sort of laughed it off and said no she wants to do it tonight in case she runs into any problems. I respect that, but I think I should have pushed harder and tried to get her to bring me back to her place (2 subway stops in the opposite direction from me, kind of a hassle but would be worth an F-Close).

We leave the restaurant and I get close to her as we take the escalator down to the subway where I drop her off. She hugs me bye and then she misses the subway that was there. We stand there and talk for a bit while waiting for the next subway to come and she says, "I'm going to kiss you on the cheek." I come back with "What?! That's it!?" and I go in and kiss her on the lips. We continue wait/talk and I kiss her again. The subway comes a minute later and I hug her again and leave (probably should have kissed her again, I was having fun with that haha).

I definitely think I should have pushed more for taking her back to her place but I didn't want to ruin my chances seeing her again. A big shame is that she lives about 45min drive from me or an hour if I take the subway.

TLDR: First date with HB7 from online, paid for dinner, ended with a couple of soft kisses (no tongue). Unfortunately she had plans for school work tonight (mentioned before the date) and I didn't try hard to get her to take me home. Should I have? Would she have felt I was sleezy for trying?
