I'm in college, just turned 21. First FR, first post! Usual backstory: breakup to relationship advice to gym to seddit. Trying for inner game; forget getting laid, my happiness should never have been in her pocket in the first place.
Hope I submitted properly to seduction (I just typed in seduction to the reddit box below this submission text).
I decided to start applying theory this semester. I'm not particularly well-read on the literature, but I've been reading seddit for a few months.
My friends took me out to a bar/club for my 21st. I talked to everyone I met, but that wasn't particularly hard. Anyone I didn't already know was a friend of a friend and they were friendly to begin with.
I need better improv conversation topics; usually I ask about people's lives, jobs, places they've visited, which can be genuinely interesting but also slightly beta. Plus opening a brand new set without a friend connection means I need to be the one holding up the convo, which might not go so well if the targets aren't as invested.
After getting drunk enough to dance without caring what I looked like (which was very fun), I tried to cool off with some water by the side of the bar. Met a woman.. lets call her (A). I was very sloshed, I wasn't really trying to open her, I just leaned over and asked if I could sit beside her, then when we started talking I tell her its my birthday and she eventually mentions she is almost a decade older than I am. I was blown away, I thought she was my age. Nice person, very friendly. The loud music gave me excuses to lean over to talk to her and kino a little; she didn't seem uncomfortable but I don't recall her reciprocating in any obvious ways.
A woman (B) comes and asks to sit next to us to give her feet a break. I got up (stupid, stupid, stupid) and tried to open the newcomer. Her first words are "I just wanted to sit down, I didn't come here to get hit on." I replied with "Lady, I'm ten years younger than anyone in here, I'm not trying to hit on you." Which got me a "fuck off, I'm 23."
Alcohol makes me courageous, my first instinct was to apologize but some seddit shone through! I really don't know if I handled that all right. She clearly wasn't interested, should I have just walked away?
At this point (A) leaned over and explained that I was drunk and had gotten the impression that this was an older crowd from talking to her. (B) seemed mollified. I didn't talk to (B) again, just chatted with (A) for a few then headed back to the dance floor.
Later, met (C) who was initially alone and responsive (eye contact, friendly, open to kino, etc.) but soon her bf comes up and asks me to back off. I apologized to him (mistake). He was the clear alpha; I backed off. I don't know how to handle that either.
I think alcohol makes me more outgoing but also dulls my sensitivity to social signs. I definitely need to work on AA sober; there were a lot of girls and in the entire night, those were the only 3 I talked to. If I hadn't had friends there, I would definitely have been out of place in between sets.
Anyways, I had a fun night; I figure I need to become inured to rejections and practice makes perfect!
Any feedback is appreciated.
