I'd say you need to be pretty direct and ask them out immediately, otherwise you're very quickly just another friendly face they see all the time but who has no actual impact on their life.

With people in your social circle you have to keep it on the down low, because you propably have some friends in common and you don't want to be 'that guy'. And if you hit on her and stuff goes sideways stuff might get awkward in the social circle and that ain't good!

So the way you wanna go about it in a more slow way, use your value as a leader in the group and as an awesome guy who knows everybody to build attraction. Then she will want to be with you
