Had Year 12 school camp (I'm 17 for you american folk) this week, had some fun with mates. But while you're reading this is you're asking 'now how did this fella go with the ladies?'

Well one of the activities was the giant swing, pretty fun stuff, but more importantly this allowed me to open on of the YMCA helpers (19). Most of the staff were international students on gap year so I asked her a bit about herself, turns out she was local. Had a decent conversation going back and forth for a while, mostly about the beach and that she should learn to swim. Unbeknownst to me I must have been getting some IOIs -well she did laugh a fair bit- because my teacher informed me she saw some attraction there.

Anywhosal we had a break and then had the Leap of Faith activity, basically a 9 metre high pole, you climb up it then jump for a trapeze. Once again this was good fun, after my go I chucked my safety harness to one of my classmates sitting next to the target. Classmate obeyed and got up so I took the seat next to target. Quite a smooth move in hindsight and I almost screwed it up as I went to another friend first, in retrospect this could also have been social proof. Anywhosal we started talking about fears and stuff, she hates/is scared of black socks, lol. I think I did notice some more IOIs but I still lacked almost any form of kino. We left that activity and I really should have gotten her number then because I never had another chance to do so.

I didn't end up getting the #close, but definitely improved since my last field report, and so I can see myself getting better. Things I would improve on in future would be:

  • Introduce kino from the start to make escalation more natural

  • Make sure to #close before it's too late

I'd appreciate anyone else to indicate areas for improvement, I also have another FR to write up since then (I was lazy) but with better results so stay tuned.

TL;DR Attempted game on one of the YMCA staff that was helping run my school camp's activities; got positive feedback but still no #close.
