Went to a salsa class tonight for the first time after urging from a friend. Got there a little early & this gorgeous brunette walks in looking a little lost. I asked her if she was looking for the salsa class & she said yes. We started talking & I randomly said "This is random but you are really cute, by the way" I found out she was a university student & that she was studying computer science. At one point it kind of felt like I was interviewing her cause I was asking her questions about her major & what her plans were for after graduation. She mentioned she has a boyfriend who moved to Colorado for work but said she wasn't sure if she wanted to move there for him but that they've been together for 2 years.

She then asked me what I did & told her that I was in my last year of medical school and that I was in LA for rotations. At one point I joked with her that I was glad she wasn't in my class cause I told her I would probably fail out. Overall I'm glad I approached & actually talked to her for longer than 1 minute. She said she was leaving LA this upcoming Tuesday & I felt like she was not interested so I didn't ask for her number.

How can I improve? As a 27 year old dude who has largely ignored dating/women my entire life, putting in effort makes me realize how far I have to go. I have struggled with self-esteem issues in the past but am trying to let go of perfectionist habits & try new things.
