Went out last night to celebrate a friend graduating college. Talked to a lot of girls but no closes. Advice/criticism welcome.
Bar 1: I open my night by chatting up a girl standing by herself and checking her phone. She's waiting for a friend and seems only half interested. The old me would have offered to buy her a drink, but the new me knows better than to waste money buying girls drinks at bars (certain exceptions apply, but I'm trying to get to a point where I don't need to use this tactic). Her friend shows up and I excuse myself.
I rejoin my group of friends and I am introduced to my friends brother G. We click well and I make him my wingman for the night. G sees a group of girls walk in and we strike up a conversation with two blonde HB9. They are easily the hottest girls in the bar. Without G, I would have never been ballsy enough to approach these girls. It's one of their birthdays. We talk for a few minutes but I mistakenly ask "what's the plan tonight?" which makes them remember they have friends waiting at a table and they leave. Our group is ready to switch bars, so we go back to those girls and take a number although I know we probably won't see them again.
Lessons learned: Cut your losses early (first girl). Don't ask what the plan is, the guys should make the plans (2nd girls)
Bar 2: We head upstairs to a sitting area and see two HB7 on a couch. G and I head over to talk to them. I sit close enough to one another of them to make physical contact and we have pretty good conversation. In hindsight this was my best chance to close that night, but I blew it for the following reasons:
- Their guy friend showed up, kind of threw off my game
- One of them went through a breakup recently. This should have made me come on stronger but I kind of just threw some pity her way.
- I was more interested in the first girl I was talking to but talked more with the girl that got broken up with
- I left to get a drink alone because no one else wanted one, I should have said (not asked) one of them to come with me (isolate)
- When I returned I started talking to someone from our group instead of re-engaging the two girls. They left shortly after I didn't ask for a number
- All in all, great situation, poor execution on my part
Bar 3: Almost closing time now, we see two girls sitting in the back of the bar and go talk to them. They are HB5 but we don't have many options now. A win was that one of them bought us drinks. They hinted that they don't go home with guys, so we just chatted until close and left.
Post-game analysis:
Execution:I was great at getting conversations started but didn't really know where to go from there. In hindsight I should have tried to isolate and escalate. A mental block for me was that we were out to celebrate a graduation and not to pick up girls.
Wingman:Having a solid wingman like G made a world of difference. He's 6'2, well dressed, confident, works out. Will definitely go out with him again.
Dating Apps: The girls I talked to last night were way better looking than the girls I match with on Tinder. I should definitely focus more time/effort into talking to girls in person.
Mindset: My best nights happen when I just try to have a good time and talk to as many people as possible, instead of fixating on one girl or one situation.
TL;DR: Went bar hopping, talked to many girls, failed to properly close any, learned a lot.
