sounds like a sucessful first day game of the year. I do agree with you on trying to keep the convo less serious, however at no point should you stop talking to good looking girls. remember with every rejection comes a learning experince.

I need to start doing this. My library is pretty optimal for this sort of stuff. My school is a large state University renowned for it's journalism school, and it had 30,000 students total. Lots of good looking girls about.

Try it out, I was nervous as hell and this was my first real attempt at day game. I definitely wasn't charming panties off, but I met some really pretty girls, who were at least accepting of me approaching them.

The last few days on campus have been pretty decent. I've met a couple girls, one I decided I'm not the least bit interested in anymore, and another that might be girlfriend material. Going for a hike soon. good shit.

Not to come off as a creep, but would that be MU?
yeah. Not that creepy. Pretty well known for it's journalism.

Interesting.
Set 1: I had a similar problem recently. Met a girl I know on the street, she was with a friend. The first girl always smiles at me and she seems to enjoy talking with me. Her friend, however, gave me really cold vibes. It caught me off guard, and after some awkward pauses I was like, see you around. Later on, I was angry about myself because the second girl's I-hate-you-looks drove me off. I need to keep my calm and learn how to deal with that.
Set 2: Let me guess about that 'hippie' college... - UC Berkeley? - UofM Ann Arbor?
Library game is the bomb, I need to start doing that too, might go do some work in the library instead of doing my school work at home.

I'm in a similar situation as the OP. The best place I've found on campus is the language lab (I have a Spanish class). Starting conversations isn't so awkward as everyone is talking usually.

There is one thing I would like to point out: It's absolutely not your fault that the conversation died. She didn't fit into your frame and there wasn't much more that you can do about that. It's not like you needto close with her. Have some standards and above all spend your time with people you enjoy being around. Everyone just starting out should keep that in mind, since it's very easy to slide from "I should approach everyone" into "I have to escalate with everyone." You are setting yourself up for quite a bit of frustration if you are to worried about that.
