Hey guys, on a new throwaway account..
There's this girl who works at the cafeteria at my work, who always talks to me, even when it's busy she'll smile and wave from a distance. She seems kind of calm and thoughtful and friendly, always wanting to 'catch up' even though we don't know each other outside of talking to each other there.
Lately she's been there less and less, once per week maybe.
Today I had gone to the gym at work, I wasn't actually working. On the way out I stopped there because I wanted to just get over the fear of asking her (any girl) out and knowing I might not see her again for 2 weeks so what the hell.
She said hi and seemed glad to see me. I didn't bother pretending I wanted to buy anything because wasting $6 on a 100g packet of nuts, fuck that.
We talked a bit about work, gym, family (her cousins were in the gym), and I told her a bit about yoga as I'd started that recently. She said a few times 'I'm so glad I saw you today'. As the conversation ran out a bit I made to turn away and she said 'I'll see you next Saturday maybe, I think that's the next time I'm here'.
I said 'You should give me your number'.
She looked a bit bashful and said 'my what? My number?'
Then after a few seconds, 'I have a boyfriend'. And 'I'm so sorry. I'll let you know if anything changes!'. I didn't really expect that so I had to try not to react much. I kind of said 'I'll see you next week then' and walked away.
Trying not to overanalyze it too much but I can't tell if it was a real rejection or 'I totally would if I was single'.
I was a bit nervous so that probably didn't help, but either way not really something that would have changed the outcome this time.
Ah well. Surprisingly not that awkward and I feel much better. If the weekend wasn't over I'd go for some cold approaches after that.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
