I approached a 2-set consisting of a HB8 and HB7. I walk up and stand right next to them, facing them and say "Hey, what's going on?" and they immediately open their tight conversation to face me. They exclaim how tall I am and ask my height, to which I just told them without a problem (though, I should've played with them a bit). They kept the conversation going, but mostly the HB8 until the HB7 faded off into the crowd. "She's shy!" HB8 Said, and the conversation continued between me and her. She basically was hitting me up with an interview (where you from, what school do you go to, what's your major, where do you work, etc) until I jokingly said I felt like I was being interviewed, and started to withhold information saying "woah, what do you want to know for? I think you're coming on a bit strong, buy me a drink first! :P". So, she was interviewing me, looking me deep in the eyes, and touching me. A good combination of IOI's, so I thought I would get her number no problem. "We should exchange information" I said "Oh, I don't give out my number on first encounters! If we meet again, then I will!" "What a lame excuse! Here I was doing you a favor and you pull a stunt like this?" (joking tone)

Anyway, I know I didn't handle this the best and was wondering if any of you have any experience with this "no first encounters" number exchange crap. I would say that I didn't build up enough attraction, or maybe I just cut the set too short (~5 min exchange)
