Hello Seddit,
Real quick intro. I have read sidebar / Models / The Game / Above the Game. This summer I was doing well. Confident, outcome independent, daygame was at a peak. But I'm not sure what happened but in September, I went back to being my same old self of working too hard, not having fun, and not approaching.
Tonight I went to a party where there was a cute single girl that I immediately clicked with. But (and I'm 24) everybody that knew both me and her kept approaching me saying "you two should hook up" or "she liked you go talk to her!" even though I was just trying to have some fun at the party. Eventually I could see people talking to her and then talking to me and I knew they were saying the same things about how we should hook up.
It really bugged me because I knew what I was doing: having fun and not spending every second with a girl that I might take home. But at the end of the night all of our mutual friends were telling me how I fucked everything up. I got her number and she agreed to a date next week (will follow up tomorrow) but for some reason the whole middle-school approach to hooking up with people and having mutual friends mediate our interaction was really offputting.
Not sure what to feel right now.
Plus side: Got girl's number, told her she was cute, danced a little, showed interest. She agreed to a date next week.
Negative side: Things were slightly awkward because I kept seeing my friends talking to her saying "you should hook up with him."
