So I've been reading Seddit for a few weeks now and, like a lot of users here I'm sure, haven't been applying it in real life. School began this week, so I told myself to get it in gear and get out there. I got on campus a little early today, so I decided that this was the time to attempt approaching.

I wussed out of a few until I saw this girl through a window. Most people would rate her a 6 or 7, but something about her just pulled me in 100%. I walked toward her and wussed out as before. Walking away, I asked myself, "Why are you afraid? What's wrong with letting a girl know that you're attracted to her? Fuck being afraid, just do it!"

I walked back to where I saw her through the window and came back across to her, said, "Hi, is this seat taken?" She smiled and said no. Taking a cue from a post I saw on here, I paused and said, "Listen, I came over here to tell you that I think you're stunning, and I wanted to introduce myself." Her reaction was priceless, and her smile went from just polite to ecstatic. We exchanged names, got to joking about school, majors, the Olympics etc., until I realized that I was about to be late for class. I said that I had to get going, and if there was any way I could reach her. She asked for my phone and she put her number in. I said, "It was nice meeting you, take care." I was so happy, I could have skipped away.

Second approach wasn't as great. Tried the same opener, she just gave a bit of a smirk, exchanged names, talked about the book she was reading, old schools (she really warmed up by this point), music...and this is where she slyly mentioned that her boyfriend was in a cover band, and that was much of what she listened to. Looking back on it, I should have ignored it, but it threw me off hard, so after a little bit more back-and-forth, I ejected.

Can't even describe how I felt walking away from the first girl, just unbelievable. Opener probably wasn't the best, but I think it had such a confident tone that it worked fine. Didn't even feel bad after the 2nd, I was so proud that I even approached her. Once I started, it wasn't even all that difficult, which was surprising.

I'm still very much a beginner, but to everyone who's in my shoes, thinking about applying this stuff in the real world, it's not as hard as you think it is, I promise!
