Hi seddit, I'm a complete beginner. I've only ever approached two girls in my life, one being the one this fr's about, and the first one went horribly. (I'm still in highschool btw). I'm an average to good looking dark skinned guy. A lot of girls I don't like are attracted to me so I assume I must be alright.
Background Info: There's a girl I saw in the hall a week ago and she's absolutely stunning. Never seen a girl like that before, and I'm being 100% honest. I guess for me she'd be what you guys call an HB10. So I've been trying to build up the courage to approach her when a good time came, but since she wasn't in any of my classes and I was a chicken, nothing ever really happened.
FR: Tonight we had a chorus practice and she went because she's in chorus too (women's chorus and men's chorus practice together). Afterwards, I stood outside with my wingman and waited until she came out. She didn't see me when she walked out so after some motivation from my friend I had to make a decision. Honestly, I was about to not approach. I was so nervous, but then I started thinking about what I'd read on a thread somewhere on here. "It's better to know that you failed then to spend life wondering what could have been". That did the trick. I ran up and cought up to her.
Me: (smiling) Hey do you have a second?
Her: Yea sure
Me: It's just I saw you earlier today and I thought you were really cute and I just had to say hi
Her: Oh wow thanks!
(She was really surprised and I could tell she took it in a really good way)
Her: What's you name?
Me: Oh hi I'm insert name, what's your name?
Her: I'm insert weird name
Me: Sorry what? (Leans in to hear better)
Her: (explains name)
I ended up chatting with her for a couple of minutes about chorus and if was her first year at the school (I'm new). I even said that I was sorry it took me so long to notice her because I come from a small private school and I'm not used to seeing so many people.
I realised I needed to close and she was giving me good vibes so I said "so hey I gotta go but..." and then I handed her my phone with the contacts app on, something I read about on here. Worked perfectly. She starting typing in her phone and I made small talk while she did. We said goodbye and went our separate ways.
Overall I'm really glad I grew a pair and approached. However, I'm still a noob and have a lot to learn. What do you guys think I could have done differently? I know I should have escalated physically but honestly I was just out of it. Any tips for how to continue? Thanks so much seddit, I owe you one.
