gTLDR on the bottom, I wrote much more then I expected too...

Hey y'all

I've been reading seddit for quite some time now, watched some Blueprint, read a little bit but never really had the balls to approach. When I went out yesterday I started with the thought of trying to approach some but a bit later I just wanted to have some fun (and I did).

After a big live DJ set me and my friends went to a small, popular "club" for some afterpartying. When we got there it wasn't very crowded but soon more and more people came in. Soon the place was packed (Around midnight now).

Had lots of fun with my friends, doing silly things and being random. I'm far from a good dancer but I'm good enough to have a good time. (Just as an indication: several times I've been told that I look funny when dancing. Most of the time I don't really give a crap, I just do what feels good and looks fun.)

Me and my friends are standing just in front of a small platform where other people are dancing. While dancing around I notice a very cute girl (High 8, maybe even 9) who's dancing on the platform. Since she's on the platform I can't really go up and talk to her (music's pretty loud) and dancing next to her on the platform would be a challenge too since it's still so crowded.

I decide to wait it out a bit (read: I didn't have the balls yet to approach her with less then optimal conditions) and hope some people start leaving so we get some room.

In the meanwhile, I try to make eye contact sometimes, throw in a smile and I see she responds back with a smile of her own.

Later on, crowd starts getting smaller and I go closer to her. She's standing on the side of the platform and I'm right in front of her (not on the platform) faced with my back to her.

When a more groovy tune starts playing I start touching the lower part of her legs with my hand (the only part of her body I can touch, the platform is rather high). She responds by putting her hands in my hair, on my shoulders etc.

After a while there's more room on the platform and I make my move and get up on the platform and start dancing with her for real. We directly get pretty close together (partially because there's only just enough room for me to stand). She runs her hand all over my tshirt, sometimes grabbing it and pulling it up. I can tell she's pretty into it. We exchange names and some other things like where we live etc. She laughs at my uncommon name, the fact that I'm not really from around and she can tell by my accent and the fact that I study Computer Science.

But this is where things start getting a bit worse. As I said, I'm an average dancer by myself but I don't have much experience dancing up close with someone else and it really shows. She's grinding me all over but I somehow lose all my sense of rhythm.

Remembering the IamA from Neil I tell her "You probably noticed I'm not the best dancer". She laughs and tells she noticed. I responded by saying she should give props to me for even going out having such dance skills. I say it's usually up to the man to lead but exceptions should be made as long as you're having fun.

All the time while dancing we're giving eachother the sexyeyes and almost kissing. Then we just go for it and start making out. After some making out I tell her she kisses with quite a lot of passion and she laughs playfully.

I'm still dancing like a retarded sack of potatoes and it gets awkward at times. We're still making out but I just feel bad for not being to dance as well as her.

A bit later she says she's going to one of her friends and leaves me there. Not really knowing if she'll come back and seeing that all my friends already left I decide to only wait for a short amount of time before leaving.

I only had her first name and no cell number so I didn't really want to leave but I knew there was a big chance she wasn't come back so I just left.

TL:DR: Start dancing with HB9 but I'm terrible at it. Still K-close but some time later she says she's going to her girlfriends and I don't think she would've come back so I just left.

Some self evaluation:

  • Should've gone in much sooner. From the first time we looked at eachother and smiled I should've gone in somehow

  • I suck at dancing, big time. Other than practice I don't really see how I can get better at this but it sucks that if I practice by just doing it with girls that I'll "lose" a lot of sets just because I'm not good yet.

*Maybe I should've asked for her number when she went to her girlfriends, or sooner.
