I put off nightgame for a long time because I was a hard-case. didn't want go through the process of cringe-worthy chode to pimp. I just wanted to jump to the advanced level and bypass the painfully awkward situations. I have to accept it's not like that and you have to embrace those situations. Expecting to be James Bond in every situation is too much pressure and stress. Give yourself permission to embarrass yourself and be awkward.
My first goal was to just get out my house and get to the venue, bars and clubs intimidate me so simply going in was a victory in itself. I did it and I appreciated myself for going out. I decided to push myself further though. I noticed two girls walking together. They crossed the street and went into this food truck patio location. I walked pass and noticed they were sitting by themselves. I walk a little further so they can't see me and sit on a fire hydrant. I know I want to talk to them, I know I need to talk to them. I have anxiety. I hold myself back - Then I start thinking how funny it is that I hold myself back. In a month this shit isn't going to matter, and we won't even remember each other. I walk over.
Me: "Hey you have you tried this place before?"
Her: "No."
Me: "Oh, you girls look like you're just visiting."
Her: "We are."
Me: "California?"
Her: "I'm sorry what?"
Me: "Are you visiting from California?"
Her: "No."
I almost introduced myself but walked away laughing about much cringe there was in that interaction.
No matter. I go into a hot spot with a band playing in the back. I pour myself some water and just kind of observe. I notice this blonde girl in a black dress with a bubble ass. She's with two friends (another thing I hate about night game is girls are always with friends). They dance, and I notice her wander back inside. I wander back in 5 minutes later, I'm about to walk out but notice her sitting by herself on a couch. Now I know I have no excuse to not approach. I hesitate a bit and circle back around. I walk up, sit right down next to her and introduce myself. To my surprise she wasn't stone-cold and mean. She was even somewhat receptive, and asking me about me. She says she's out for a bachelorette party, her other friends eventually come into the room. And there I am sitting in the bar surrounded by hot women and thinking this is awesome! And all of them were super cool! None of them were mean like I always expect girls to be. One particular girl in the group (Emmy) came over and sat next to me, she was more receptive than the first girl. We introduce ourselves and she holds her hand longer than usual. Her breath smells of hops but as newbie I'm not about to be too picky. We chat more off to the side while the bride starts twerking, grinding on everything in sight. I tell Emmy I have a youtube channel, that I'm super famous and that she should be asking for my autograph. For a second she seemed like she was gonna ditch her friends for me but they got an uber and left. As she was leaving, she came back in to shake my hand again and say goodbye, I say we should grab a coffee sometime, she says she'd love to. I hand her my phone and she types in her full, first and last name. After they left I had this sensation in my body that I wanted to keep going, to keep approaching.
But I don't. I choose the easy path and I text Emmy about ten minutes later.
Me: "Hey Emmy this is gtrman, you forgot to get my autograph lol"
She responds quickly.
Her: "Ah.. I'd rather have a live serenade personally haha"
Me: "Oh I gotcha, that can be arranged ; )"
Her: "Oh yeah? How long are you in town?
Me: "I live here now! How about you?"
Her: "Oh awesome, I was so close to moving here and blah, blah blah..."
Me: "Nice! We should definitely meet up again before you leave..."
She didn't text back and I think I fucked it up with that last text. I seemed too needy, she already agreed to meeting up again, why did I say that? Well anyways, it might be too late and she might not remember me tomorrow - But I'm gonna try texting her something like "how's your hangover?" in the morning.
