WARNING: Long post of boring newbie stuff, so skip it if you're more experienced.

Last night hahaboohoo and I went around approaching girls together on the street. It was my first time doing anything like this but he was fairly comfortable with it. For those that was wondering, approaching for the first time (if you've never done it before) IS fucking nerve wrecking as shit. Even as I was going to meet him, I was thinking in my head "This is fucking insane, I don’t even know the guy and I’m going around meeting strangers with him. What the hell am I doing?". But I knew that if I didn't break out of my shell now, I'm never gonna do it.

So I finally meet him on the street, finally spotting him when he starts waving his cellphone and screaming “HYBRID!!” across the street. Although he looked like an average guy, he was just brimming with confidence and gave no fucks. After a little small talk on the basics, we started off by just getting over the fact that people don’t care about you and you can do whatever you want. So he just screamed “HEY!” out of nowhere on the streets and then telling me to do the same. My god, it was so hard just overcoming my own personal restraint and fighting against every fibre of my body which did not want to do this at all. But once I did, it felt liberating and exciting, even though afterwards I was shaking and felt like I just ran a 10k sprint.

After that, we just started approaching girls on the streets. We started off with something simple and no-risk like “Hey, do you know if there are any good bars around here?”. Even with that open, it was pretty hard for me. But after approaching 3 different sets with positive response from all of them, it felt damn good. The first approach took ridiculously long for me to gather enough courage to do it but with every successive approach, I felt more comfortable. I still felt nervous and my body still shakes like mad from the adrenaline, but I did it. And they didn’t bite.

Next, we opened with something less of the ordinary, something along the lines of “Hey, I’m meeting everyone in the city. My name is Hybrid.” This to me was far more challenging because it isn’t the norm and my brain was just resisting every bit of it. The first approach was definitely hard and they kinda gave me a look like I’m crazy and walked off but hahaboohoo gave me a high five and said “See? You did it!”, and he was right. Regardless of their response, I did it. I continued to approach about 6 more sets after that, getting more and more comfortable each time but still feeling anxious about each approach, some more than others. In general though, everyone was actually really kind and said things like “I hope you enjoy your night!”. It really wasn’t that bad. I think I got some interest too from a set I approached.

In the meantime, hahaboohoo approached some sets of his own and was able to facebook close a HB9 in one case. The funny thing about this HB9 encounter, was that the first thing she said to him was “I have a boyfriend”. Yet, 1 min into the conversation with him, she was laughing and twirling her hair. It was definitely mind blowing when you see everything you’ve read about happening right in front of you. All the bitch-shield, IOIs, push-pull, inner game and everything else I read just suddenly clicked when I see it in action. This whole time I was skeptical about the effectiveness of the game, but it’s hard to deny it when you see it happening right in front of your eyes.

Even if I wasn’t able to get very far yesterday night, I was at least able to get started. I hope to look back on this one day and laugh about how I’m making this such a big deal when it wasn’t. So, for those of you who are still thinking about it, just go out and practice. Field experience matters.
