Let me start off by saying this is short and there was no close of any kind, so don't get too excited. Here we go.

I'm a pretty confident guy. I don't have trouble talking to women, in fact I think I do pretty well flirting and kino and all of that jazz. My problem though seems to lie in more times than most randomly choosing to hit on girls who already have boyfriends (or so they say).

Today I was in a rush to get to one of my classes across campus. I always get there a couple minutes late, and each day (obviously) I have to choose a seat next to someone in the large lecture hall.

Today I walked in and a girl caught my eye. She was an HB8 I said, had a great sense of style/fashion (which I can really appreciate), had bangs, just a gorgeous girl. I go to sit next to her and she takes a quick glance at me. My eyes meet hers and she looks away nervously. I smile and sit down, and the lecture begins. While listening to the lecture I'm thinking in the back of my head how I should approach asking this girl out in some way. Since I can't talk during lecture, and everyone books it out of there pretty fast at the end of class, I figured whatever I did, it had to be quick. I came up with an idea, and figured I would go with it.

"Hey, it's nice to see a girl wearing something other than Ugg boots and a Northface fleece jacket. I like your style." was what I planned on opening with. I figured it was direct enough where she would know my intentions, but not so direct that it could be taken as disrespectful in any way (unless she secretly was in love with the outfit I was insulting).

I don't think much of it and continue to take notes. HB8 is playing with her hair a lot and just keeps switching positions.

10 minutes are left in the class and I notice her starting to pack up. No! She can't leave early! I can't talk during lecture without being rude (respect is important, yall). Quickly I write on the top of my notebook paper I was taking notes on. "It's nice to see a girl wearing something other than Ugg boots and a Northface fleece jacket. I like your style."

I nudge her arm with my elbow really lightly and she looks at me. I smile and move my notebook towards her to read, pointing to the top of the page. She reads it and gets a huge smile on her face and giggles. "Yeah...Uggs aren't me" she whispers.

Class ends not 15 seconds after and we stand up and begin to pack up.

"What's your name?" I ask her. "I'm HB8" she says smiling "I'm SenorSyncro, nice to meet you" I smile and shake her hand.

Now here's where I would like some seddit advice. I said the following. "I don't normally do this, but would you like to get coffee with me sometime?" She giggled really loudly and had a huge grin on her face. "I would but I have a boyfriend. That's very sweet of you though." "That's too bad" I say with a smile.

We finish packing up and I say goodbye and tell her to stay stylish or something along those lines. Feeling good, I leave and go to my next class.

Even though I didn't close in any way, it always feels good to make an approach when you're not expecting it. Feelsgoodman.jpg

Would you have used "I don't normally do this..." though? I would like to hear thoughts on this.
