I've been reading around seddit for a few weeks and the advice that I've been reading is awesome. So last night when my friends and I went to a house party, I decided to use a lot of this advice and make the most of it.

Story: We get to the house party and my target(a girl from my floor, I'm a college student) was there already so we mingled a bit. I then went and started talking to a few groups of people, I got the names of the girls and befriended the guys in the group also. I got a positive reaction from everyone I was introducing myself to.

As the night went on I made some moves on the target but I also had two others lined up so that I could keep my options open and also use the three as social proof for each other. Surprisingly, some people that I made little attempt to get to know started coming up to me and started sending off IOIs. I played along with this, as nice form of practice. Everything was going great until the party came to an abrupt end because of security. This unfortunately had everyone exiting the party quickly before I could number close the two other targets I was talking to.

All in all, I consider it a fairly successful night. The girl that I knew previously was still texting me after the party so there's something still in that. It was my first time really going out with the advice presented here in mind, and with the confidence that I could really do it.
