So after reading about various other sedditors' experiences with OKCupid (and because of a particularly boring Spring Break back home), I decide to join. I read some guides on how to make a good profile, pick out some good pics, then got to work on browsing girls in my area.

One caught my eye almost right off the bat, a girl who attends the same college. I'll admit right now I'm a bit picky when it comes to women, I prefer smart, nerdy girls. This girl was a pretty big literary fan, and on top of that spoke at length about how much she liked writing, which was a big turn-on for me.

I message her to ask about what she liked to write, plus a joke about being made nervous by Taekwondo (another one of her listed interests). She responds back, and we messaged throughout the weekend. On Sunday night, I decide a good connection's been made and I ask her out for coffee. She says it sounds great, we exchange numbers.

Tuesday comes, and coffee goes well. I didn't attempt any kino then (more on this later), mostly just getting to know each other. She seems interested in what I had to say, laughed at my jokes...so far so good. Talking about movies led to her admitting she'd never seen Jurassic Park (my all time favorite), so I told her she had to see it. Date 2 was set for watching JP together tonight.

Of course, nothing ever goes to plan. We meet up, head to my dorm room, and pop the JP DVD in my X-Box. Light chatter goes while we watch at first; jokes about the movie, stories about hearing my neighbor scream at himself through the thin walls. Wanting to make up for the coffee date, I go for indirect kino at first (indirectly touching while sitting next to each other), but the DVD keeps skipping due to scratches, so I suggest we watch something on Nextflix instead.

We pick The Men Who Stare at Goats. About a third of the way in I decide it's time for some direct physical contact, so I put my arm around her, and she responds by resting her head on my shoulder. I knew I was in business then.

My roommate dropped by right before the movie finished. I introduce them, but she says she has to get going to finish some homework. I have to go too (had to be at work), so I ask my roomie if he could step out for a sec.

The next moment was just killer. I turn away from my door and she's standing there looking back at me. I know the look she's giving me and she knows the one I'm giving her. I move in, say I had fun tonight. She says she did too. I take another step in, she puts her hand on my shoulder, and BAM! K-Close.

So who knows where this'll go. She's pretty cool, and it's always great to be with a girl who you can have a deep conversation with. I have to give the men (and women) of seddit major props for the advice and FRs posted everyday. Using what I learned here was crucial.
